[Aqua was sitting by a window, with her knees draw up and the communicator balanced on top. She leaned back against the wall, posture relaxed.]

I've been wondering, does anyone come from a world with magic? If so, would you mind telling me a little about it?

[She reaches out a hand to steady the communicator when it slides a little to the left before righting it again.]

I specialized in magic back home, so I'm curious about what kinds of magic exists in other worlds.

I found a copy of the Grimm's Fairy Tales in the library. [She smiled.] I really enjoyed it; thank you for recommending it to me.

I guess... *Clare sounded like it helped, but only half a step. She didn't feel strong, or courageous, and she felt like anymore hardship would break her. But that's how Clare always felt.*

I always thought the most courage was not fighting, fighting always seemed like it was the easier answer at home. But that was mostly schoolyard things not worth the fight...

Hehehe. I'm glad you see it my why. Honestly, I think he likes distractions more than he lets on anyway. He should really take more breaks, but he's really stubborn.

Ah--but you would do that? Oh, goodness, I would like that very much! I've heard over the communicators that people's powers disappear here, so I don't think they would, but...it's still something I would like to learn!

[A few retorts flash in her mind but she swallows them back. She wasn't going to lose her temper over this.

It would probably be best to focus on other things.]

3000 years? [That's a little hard to believe.] Then you were dead before BREW brought you here.

So you have spells that can affect the time and space around you? [ Other than the incredibly rare and difficult Time Stop they didn't have anything like that back home. ]

Hrm... the energy in our bodies also keeps the world alive. So I do not think they are the same.

There are times when you can summon more than one spirit. However, summoning a spirit requires a lot of mana so in battle it's not wise to try to unleash more than one at a time. There is only one exception to this rule and that is the Sylph. There are three of them, but they all act as one Summon.

Only if they make it to the very end. Most people don't.

[She thinks she understood a little, what Takasugi was telling her before, about not thinking about the feelings of the people she sacrificed everything for.]

I think, even if you saved your world, if it was at such a high cost to you, they still wouldn't be happy.

I agree. What my Meister ability allows me to do...I'd never even imagined I could do it on my own.

I'm not surprised. It's pretty isolated as far as worlds go.

[She'd actually be more surprised if Clover had heard about it.]

Well, they weren't really all in one place. [Well, she hadn't had any trouble with people pushing her for answers lately...] They lived in different worlds that I visited.

That's true in some circumstances, but I think courage is really just...doing the right thing even if you're afraid.

He can be, can't he? It would help if he'd let people help more instead of trying to do everything by himself.

It's a weapon. I can't really say how it worked, but it was a weapon that could only be wielded by someone with a strong heart.

I do. There aren't as many, and those spells tend to have less variety, but they're a lot of help in a pinch.

That's the be expected, I think. After all, we do come from different worlds. I'd even met a girl whose magic relied on will power.

[She nodded.] That makes sense. [Just like how stronger spells required more energy and, subsequently, a longer cool down period between casting.] Why are there three of them, though?

Well, we won't know until that happens. For now, it won't hurt to hold onto a bit of hope.

I still don't know everything, but from what I was told a great deal had occurred in the time I was gone.
