[Slamming his communication mirror down switches it on, and he stares at the screen for a while.

It might not have been intentional, but as long as it's on and recording--]

Didn't think the stupid ramen shops would stop givin' me any ramen so fast.

[His voice drops, whiny and obviously attempting a terrible impression]

"Sorry kid you're gonna eat us outta stock."

[Thunk. That'll be the sound of his head slamming against the counter... followed slowly by the gradual boil of a kettle somewhere nearby.

His hand slams down on top of the device a moment later, thereby turning it off.]

...Did I say now? [confusion on his end. Did he agree to something?]

But Gai and I were just going to [A tiny tiny pause] have lunch. [Well, there's no getting out of it now, really, he guesses. A hungry Naruto is an unbearable Naruto. He'll just have to feed you.]

...Fine. Meet me at Obito's work in ten, fifteen minutes.

Ey, but--

[Griiiiiiin. Even if you can't see it Kakashi, surely you can hear it in his voice.]

Alright! Fifteen minutes! Ah-- you better be there.

[Sigh. He guesses that Naru-happiness makes it all worthwhile. It really kind of does.]

If I'm late, blame Gai.

[Course it does.]

Ah-- You get him to do everythin' for ya or somethin'? Just be there okay!?

We're gonna get food right? So just think about that. Yanno, the food?

Some of us aren't nearly hungry as you are, Naruto. But yes, I'll try to not be too late. I'd hate for you to waste away.

[Can't you hear his stomach grumbling from here.]

[A wry smile seeps into his tone.] Yeah, I'm sure he is to blame. He shouldn't allow me to snack between meals.

Ah. No. If I waste away, dattebayo!

[Don't think he doesn't pick up on that tone.]

Ah, no. Then I'll blame you. If you stop talking to me, maybe I can get myself ready to go out to eat.

...And get Gai ready too. I have to make sure he has his wallet, in case I forget mine.

Ah. [This is a good point---] Fine.

Why don't you just, yanno make sure you take your own wallet?

That defeats the point of bringing Gai along.

You're just gonna make him pay?

Don't worry about it, Naruto. I always pay Gai back, trust me.

[Frown. :|]
