Decimotercera ⚜ Roda [March 13th, afternoon; video]

[Today finds Fabiola perched somewhere high, and taking a well-deserved day off from her usual activities. She raises the hand holding a thermos- coffee, because she considers herself too mature a girl for something like hot chocolate- to the camera, and then takes a sip of her coffee, preparing herself to speak. She's not as long-winded as usual today, though perhaps it's for the best, considering what she wants to ask.]

I know a lot of people have left lately, and I know some of those here are better at handling it than others. So in the interest of helping those that do not take it as well as others...

[She shifts idly, peering over her hands at the ground below and scooting backward just a little.]

How do you make yourselves feel better, Death City? What do you do in order to keep pushing forward?

It means to stop thinking critically and logically, and be willing to believe in the impossible.

Ah- well, I think that is something that most people have to do when they first arrive here, honestly.

It's not an easy mindset to keep, since we've only been here a few months at most. You were startled by the idea of sky whales just a minute ago.

Well- who really expects to be told about flying whales, even in this place?

Floating islands are a common theme in fantasy books. Flying whales are perhaps a bit harder to imagine, but it's not too big of a leap.

I am afraid I do not have much time for fantasy books- though I would imagine that depending on how popular a type of story is, it would make it easier to believe.

It doesn't really matter how popular a book is. I've been reading everything I can get my hands on. Being here has given me a lot of free time.

Ah- not to you, specifically. I meant to the populace as a whole. But that certainly is one way to spend your time.

My partner liked reading books, too... [He trails off and shakes his head.]

Ah, did they? Well, I am certain it is a way to keep them in mind while keeping from missing them too much...

[He doesn't think Kuroro's capable of missing anything, except maybe the convenience of nen and the more difficult challenges their more dangerous world presented to him, but he doesn't say this out aloud.]

It's a way to occupy our free time. Other people probably have other hobbies. What do you do when you're free, for example?

I have taken to running, actually- and climbing, in a sense.

And that's outside of morning training?

To and from, usually. It depends on the weather, most days.

Ahh. You mean running up and down the Shibusen stairs?

Well... not necessarily. I get there by whatever means necessary. Sometimes that involves the stairs, sometimes it does not.

That's one way to stay fit. Those stairs are remarkable--I've never seen anything like it.

They are quite something- though I do not always take the stairs.

To get to the school, you mean?

Mmhmm- a little climbing never hurt anyone.

[... Are there other ways into the school other than up the stairs?]

Maybe we can incorporate the exercise into the morning training program...

I do not think it is something that very many would be suited for.

[All that climbing and what have you.]
