Typically something more sophisticated is a safe bet when it comes to pageantry. Most people are attracted to the glitz and glamor associated with it.

I was actually invited to that myself, which I suppose is a serendipitous turn of events despite what it might do to the overall quality of the conversation. We can simply rendezvous immediately after the meeting is over and begin our work.

Is that so? Excuse me for a moment while I lay down on the couch in utter shock.

Frequent late nights spent summoning minor demons and binding them to my will have left me quite immune to the typical midnight fatigue, so there won't be much trouble there. I'd intended to stay the entire duration but I'm beginning to have a sneaking suspicion that events will conspire to rob me of this goal.

Yes, I can just imagine. If only this were geared towards troll culture, then your cross-dressing expertise could truly shine through for all to see.

How shockingly considerate of you. With that attitude I might actually be moved to bring the eye shadow I'd been hoarding away for personal use on a special occasion.

There's no need to be so critical of yourself. I'm certain that you can pull off a skirt just as well as the next gray-skinned alien.

It might. Worlds turn on the smallest of choices, after all.

And the problem you're running into is what, exactly?

Indeed we shall.

There's no need to be so unnecessarily defensive in the face of a perfectly innocent question. Unless I'm touching upon some deep-seated insecurities of course, in which case I'd suggest getting those settled as soon as possible.

Assuming the worst out of perfectly innocuous inquiries can often denote a feeling of paranoia and unjustified persecution. Is this a frequent occurrence with you or a reaction you save merely for talks with me?

A feeling of persecution and misanthropic tendencies regarding large portions of the population? You're certainly racking up the issues, aren't you.

Merely noting them down isn't much of a to-do at all, although I suppose given the previously mentioned rampant paranoia I shouldn't be surprised. One cannot combat issues without fully understanding their scope first.

Only if you believe that it would be helpful to you. I'm perfectly content to itemize the observations in my notebook at my leisure.

While that is perfectly true, therapy is different for each patient. No one's needs are completely the same, and often moving a bit out of one's comfort zone can aid in recognizing obstacles that were previously invisible.
