[Yesterday, she hadn't been in much of a mind to really explore the DEMISE network save for picking up on Kanji's message.

Today, she's had a little time to calm down, to take in what Kanji and Naoto had told her and now she figures it's time she tries to branch out so she's not relying on them for everything. Which means time to break her silence - and she never has minded putting on a performance, even if this is less performance and more teenage girl wanting to meet people.]

Hey. So, I figured if we're all in this war thing together I should probably introduce myself, let you guys get to know me a little and all. I mean, we are a team...maybe a pretty big team but even so, it's better if we're comfortable with each other, right? So: My name's Rise Kujikawa and I'm from a town called Inaba in Japan. If you guys know Kanji-kun or Naoto-kun, that's the same Inaba they're from.

Anyway, I'm sixteen and before I landed here I was in talks to restart my idol career. Which, for anyone who doesn't know means I sing and dance and do ad work and, well, pretty much whatever really. Or I did. And would like to again but, well. I guess this war kinda got in the way of that, huh?

Oh and before anyone asks, Kanji-kun and Naoto-kun explained this place to me yesterday when I got here. I'm still trying to make sense of a lot of it but I think I have that part under control. I just figured it would be a good idea to talk to people, have something else to think about. I mean, we are all in this together, right?

Not by itself. But fighting for something? It can be.

I guess I won't exactly deny that. [ She's fought for plenty of things herself, after all. But there's a problem here with that though. ] But if you just get a cause to fight for shoved onto you, then there's no way you could be motivated to fight for that, right?

I don't know. I'd think if nothing else, a promise of being able to go home once things settle down would be pretty big motivation. That, and...well, my friends are here. Maybe I don't want to fight for the bigger cause, but if I can help them? That's somewhere to start.

.. Yeah, those are better reasons. Still, the first reason is pretty lame, considering they kidnapped us to begin with. But I guess.. yeah, if I had someone I knew from home in this place too, I'd want to fight for them. [ even though now she doesn't. ]

I'd think the fact they kidnapped us to begin with would make the prospect of home even better, but then I guess that depends how much you care for home to begin with.

You don't have anyone from home here?

No. As far as I know, nobody from my world has shown up here before. [ She doesn't sound like she cares too much though. Or maybe she's forcing that, but either way.. ]

I'm sorry...that must be hard.

[Even if she apparently doesn't care. Rise just knows she'd find it harder without her friends there]

[ She's being honest about this, at least. ]

I mean, I never had many people around me back home either, so this is pretty much the same. And at least here I have a partner.

Oh...well that's something at least.

[She's heard about the partnering thing, of course, but she hasn't made many steps towards figuring that out yet]

Yeah, exactly. Better than nothing, either way, so I guess that's the one thing I can't fault this place on.

At least we're all in this together. I mean...I might not be your partner and maybe I'm not much of a fighter, but I want to help. I haven't figured out how, yet, but I will.

You're pretty optimistic about this deal, aren't you?

I guess I am...I like to try and stay positive about things.

I guess it isn't entirely too bad. I mean, this place isn't the worst place to be stuck in, so it isn't like optimism can hurt you too much here.

Well, I guess we'll see. But that's good to know.

.. Yeah, I guess we shouldn't be talking about that kind of stuff until you've been here for a month or so, huh.

Well, it only seems fair to give the place a chance first.

It's not like it's bad enough either way to have anything to warn you about in advance. Except for the occasional idiots stuck here along with us.

Isn't that just the same as anywhere else, though?

Definitely. [ not even a single hesitant moment. ] No matter where you, there will always be idiots. It's just easier to notice here since there aren't as many of us stuck here as there are people in a normal city. So the idiots stand out more with how loud they are.

You've never lived in a small town, then.

No, are they more like this? I'm just used to moving through big cities.

Well I can't really say when I just got here. But when everyone knows everyone, the idiots stand out a whole lot more.

You mostly get to know them here because of this network. Like people who idiotically use the SOS function by accident.

There's an SOS function? I guess that makes sense given where we are.
