♡ Call 002 [video, April 28, evening]
[This evening finds Cupid on her couch again, a box settling into view in the corner of the feed while she makes herself comfortable.]
Wow, okay so- shopping for other people? Totally exhausting.
[As she speaks, she opens up the pastry box in front of her and withdraws a ridiculously decadent-looking cupcake, leaning back on her sofa and crossing her legs primly.]
Feels excellent helping them bring their wardrobe up to speed from whatever the last fashion era they got stuck in was, though.
[Not to mention she gets to dress people up all day. Score!]
But I've been thinking- since I got here, really- that helping people out with their issues might be why I'm here. Soooo...
What would everyone think of a little matchmaking? For people looking for Partners as well as people looking for romance- since really, they're both about compatibility to one degree or another. I'd have to make up some forms and stuff, of course, but I figured I should throw it out there, and see what everyone thinks...!
On top of that- would anyone be interested in an advice broadcast? I figure it'd be possible to broadcast over the network maybe once a week- folks can mail in questions for me to answer on-air, or just call in and ask live! What do you say? Good ideas or no?
[Though really, she'll probably wind up doing them regardless. She sits up a little straighter after a moment's pause though, and leans forward.]
--oh, and before I forget... [She reaches into the box again and pulls out another cupcake.] Got something for you Jack!

[actionnnn]
Freezing or so would be nice. It's kind of hard to tell like this though, I could just keep myself cold almost anywhere back home.
[and peeking into the box as he says that...score! cupcake acquired.]
Nah, not much. Hard to do a lot when you can't really go out during daytime.
[actionnnn]
Okay, if you ever manage to get your place that cold? Then it'll definitely be too cold to head up without a sweater.
[She frowns a little at the fact that he hasn't done much all day though, and eyes her tv with a thoughtful hum.]
Wow, you're becoming a real night owl, huh? Well- you wanna watch a movie or something while you're down here? It's not much, but it's better than heading out right now. With the wind and the heat it's like walking in a big, sandy hair-dryer.
[actionnnn]
[he says it so casually, settling it with his cupcake, but seriously. he's seen plenty of movies, but only ever unseen, slipping in to watch in a theater or through someone's window.]
[actionnnn]
...yeah. We can totally watch it together. Two, if you want.
[Because she has literally never heard a sadder sentence than that one in her life and it's really all she can do not to hug him at the moment.]
Want a soda or something? I can make popcorn too- we'll have the whole experience, whaddaya say?
[actionnnn]
Sure...You okay?
[actionnnn]
[She sets down her cupcake and turns to look at him, biting her lip a little.]
I know you said you didn't hang out with too many people or spirits or whatever but- you really never had someone to watch a movie with?
[actionnnn]
Yeah, well...no one could see me for the last 300 years. No one believed in me. And all the other spirits just...always kind of had their own things going on, I guess.
[actionnnn]
[Yeah, no- incoming hug, sorry.]
That's awful- I... no wonder you were so pleased to hear that I'd heard of you...!
[She gives him a little squeeze, shaking her head slightly as she pulls away, hands settled on his arms.]
Well... I guess we'll have to make up for a lot of that lost time then, won't we?
[actionnnn]
It's no big deal. I mean, everything's fine now, and everyone can see me here, and...
[and he's killing the mood.]
Yeah. Movies, soda, popcorn. Sounds good.
[actionnnn]
...yep, that sure is her face turning red.]
Well- still...! If there's anything you want to do, we can totally work on it...!
[She says all this while standing up and holding the remote out to him, trying to make her face just. Stop. Blushing.]
Right- I'll go get everything, you pick out a movie, okay?
[actionnnn]
Sure, sure. Take all the time you need to calm down, I know I'm a little too cool to handle sometimes.
[actionnnn]
Oh yeah. I'm completely unable to keep up with how cool you are, Mister.
[Now if you'll excuse her, she has popcorn to make and sodas to get.]
Be back in a minute.
[actionnnn]
[actionnnn]
[She calls out from the kitchen, heels clicking steadily back and forth as she gets a bowl for the popcorn, sets the popcorn in the microwave, and rummages for the sodas she knows she bought...
How did they even get that far back in the fridge she doesn't have that much food...
Yes she does.][actionnnn]
I can't even tell, every other thing has "death" in the title. They're really stubborn about their themes here, I guess.
[actionnnn]
Ugh- okay, it's cute and everything, but they really need to figure out when enough is enough...
[Popping in to settle a couple of sodas on the coffee table and giving the blanket a curious little flip before turning to head back toward the kitchen.]
Just pick whatever has the funniest summary then!
[actionnnn]
[y'know. being dead and all. also wehhh don't flip his blanket you are letting the cold out!]
...There's a zombie movie that looks hilariously terrible. How's that sound?
[actionnnn]
[Sorry Jack, if you tell her that there will probably be even more hugs tbh. Also she will flip all the blankets she likes, it's her apartment!]
Oooh, I've never watched normie zombie movies! Toss it on, I'll have to tell my friend Ghoulia all about it when I see her again.
[actionnnn]
[actionnnn]
[She finally strides back in with popcorn bowl in hand, and pops a kernel in her mouth as she sits down, and reaches to start undoing the straps on her heels.]
...and oh. Didn't think you were actually... you know. Dead. Undead? Either way, sorry.
[actionnnn]
Dead, I guess. No big deal through, not like I haven't been like this for the last 300 years.
[actionnnn]
Ouch. Well, at least you haven't been around as long as the DeNile sisters- and before you ask, yes, that is their actual last name.
[actionnnn]
[but yeah. soda, popcorn, blankets, and unexpected news of his dead status. he's ready to get this movie party started.]
[actionnnn]
And yet no one ever goes for it. For the best, really- the last thing anyone wants is either of those two deciding to go all 'wrath of the Pharaos' on everyone.
[She does pause mid-nibble though, and turns to look at him out of the corner of her eye.]
Is it cold enough in here for you?
[actionnnn]
It's cool. I mean, nothing here's every really "cool" enough, but I'm not gonna make you freeze in your own apartment 'cause of me.
