I've ascertained that Gamzee Makara was sent home by BREW. As his former partner, it's probably my duty to inform everyone who might care. So... consider yourselves informed.

No, I think it's best if I vacate it. It isn't customary for a guest to occupy two units at once.

[[Looks over, worry clearly showing.]] Then where...?

You wouldn't turn me away if I came to see you, right?

I wouldn't. [[smiles softly, setting out a plate of anpan and a bowl of glaze]]

[L immediately begins nibbling.]

So that's settled, then.

That you're going to be staying here?

[[Bakura couldn't help but smile at the round about way the question had been asked.]]

Not always, but at times, I can. And that will suffice.

[He says it definitively, for his sake and Bakura's.]

[[Bakura nods, sitting down across from his friend and picking up one of the anpan for himself. The benefit to not making the anpan itself so sweet and instead letting Ryuzaki add his own glaze to his liking: Bakura could also enjoy his own cooking.]]

As long as you give me a little warning, so I don't promise Yuugi-kun or someone else they can stay over, only to find you you've already claimed the room for the night.

[As a system, it works extremely well; L heaps on the glaze, as per usual, but perhaps, in the spirit of improving, he is working to cut back a bit.]

Barring an emergency, I'll give you at least a day's notice.

[He says so carefully, the weight of his words implying that it's very, very unlikely such a thing could occur. ]

Good... I was a little worried that somehow... just because you were just out in the hall. [[admits with a small, almost sheepish smile.]]

I wouldn't misplace it... it just seemed strange to use it without being on speaking terms with you.

Even when I had invited you over? [[he sounds almost guilty at that]]

I didn't know why you were inviting me over. I didn't trust myself to assume anything.

Because of how badly everything had gone? [[guesses, still looking a bit guilty. To make the normally overly confident L doubt himself like that...]]

Please stop apologizing for things that are not your fault.

It feels like it is, a little.. [[admits softly]] Because I ran away... I didn't realize how things were and only saw my own hurt. And I stayed hidden for so long because I couldn't deal with the situation.

[[he sighs softly, leaning back in his chair]] There are things in me I need to change as well, I know...

If that's true for everyone, as I've often heard, it would probably be true for you, too.

But it's also true that to be perfect is to be inhuman.

[[looks down with a soft smile]] I don't think I could even get close to perfect... that much at least I realized long ago. But I do want to get better... and not just in chess and things like that.

Wanting to improve for your own sake is either very prideful or very humble. I would have to think about it.

[[he blinks]] ....to tell which it is...?

I'd be lying if I said I knew, or even that I had a very good idea. And we agreed not to lie.

[[a small smile]] I don't know if it's really either... Maybe it's selfish, not wanting it for others, but.... sometimes I think being a little selfish isn't always bad....

[[Or at least that's what he's been told, over and over again]]

Not always.

Moderation is not a bad thing to work on, I don't think.
