I heard that you were looking for a Weapon. I am one, actually. My partner is the head of the Detective Agency, which is why I handle this zone alone. Since you are a Meister, there may be situations wherein I'll need to partner with you. Same could be said of any other Weapon teammates in the area. How do you feel about that?

I have no trouble with such arrangement. The concern would be if I can wield just anyone which I hold doubts.

Have you tried wielding someone yet?

Not yet. It was a chaotic arrival and introduction considering the kidnappings.

[A part of him feels that it's too soon to let her wield him, but waiting isn't a smart thing to do when you're in the midst of a war. He had to know if he could count on her in an emergency. Besides that, Eve and Keroro were already a pair. She was the only one unpaired in his district.]

[Honestly, she doesn't know what to expect from a resonance. Still, if one must experience it to fully learn then so be it.]

[Take his hand... That would be necessary, wouldn't it. Reaching out, Valentine takes hold of his outstretched hand, watching with fascination as he transformed into a Rapier. And he wasn't a parasite... interesting... Not exactly a Weapon she would prefer to use, but it would do.]

[... Odd. Even for this size, he felt a little weighed.]

[Although nowadays Genesis finds it easier to work with others, he still isn't the best weapon for new meisters. He resonates enough with Valentine to lessen the weight of his blade, but he doesn't think it's enough to unlock his elemental abilities.]

How does it feel?

[Resonation is met with momentary resistance, mostly from a quip of surprise. How strange, but fascinating. It takes a moment, but she manages to get her soul to balance and level, but not exactly. He's stronger after all.]

... Decent. Clearly, I'm lacking experience.

Decent is better than painful, though. A bad resonance can hurt you. And this will improve the more you get to practice.

Is that right? The information was conveniently left out of the tour.

Yes, that is correct. I've hurt a few potential Meisters because of that when I was new to the city.

[Since souls can be read and give away information. She'll have to find out how to mold hers accordingly without divulging too much of herself.]

[He transforms back from his weapon form. Unfortunately for Valentine, the little time they spent resonating allowed Genesis a little peek at her soul-- and something tells him that there's something there he should be wary of.

It was a bit of a darkness similar to two of his past Meisters. To Valentine's favor, though, that was more of a feeling. Genesis wasn't as strong as a Meister with Soul Perception when it came to reading souls.]

In the same way, a Meister can hurt a weapon if they can't resonate well.

[Must still be a presence of the Skull Heart. Still, she wasn't going to say anything about it. Valentine only stared at the re-formed Genesis]

I'll follow strict protocols to make sure that doesn't happen.

The nature of the soul is unpredictable, Valentine. Even if you follow the strictest protocols, there will be things that may not be in your control. Just a little something for you to keep in mind as you seek out a partner.
