[Well, Chika's looking much better than she did the last time she had appeared on the DEMISE network. But even so, she doesn't really look all that super happy.

Actually, she's frowning a bit, her eyes darting between the communicator and something off-screen.]

So umm... there's going to be a gala, isn't there? Like... big fancy party and... well, formal dresses and stuff.

[Chika sighs.]

Okay, I guess there's no real easy way to ask this. I need help finding a dress. For something like a gala, I really have no idea what I'm doing at all.

I need a date too, but well, need to focus on the dress first.

[Chika forces a smile to her face, hoping that she hadn't really been too loud with that last comment. She was kinda surprised that she actually said that outloud instead of just thinking it, but well, nervous.]

So umm, if anyone doesn't mind helping me look for a dress, I'd really appreciate the help.

Oh. That's pretty interesting. I'm glad that she's lucky enough to have family and friends here though. It definitely makes things easier to get used to.

[OOC: Yep, totally up for a shopping log! Either at Yesterday's Magic or otherwise. Whatever we do though, I think it'd be easier if you set up the log, just because I have a mountain of tags to still get through. XD

And don't worry about the slow, I completely understand, things happen, after all.]

Yeah. I can say the same for myself, too. What about you? Do you have anyone you know from home here?

My older brother was here for a while, but BREW sent him back a while ago.

[She smiles.]

Of course, it was weird when he was here, since I haven't seen him even back home in years. And I was older than he was here because of, well, BREW.

... that sounds definitely weird. So you were the older sister for a while, huh?

Yeah, I was. Though with some things he still acted like he was older.

I guess I can't really blame him though. I mean, I think guys are kinda hardwired to want to threaten their sister's boyfriends no matter what the age.

[She laughs.]

Ah, you have a boyfriend here?

... Had. We broke up months ago. He's dating someone else now.

[ No reason to go into why they broke up unless Karina asks, she guesses. It was... well, it was crappy all around, and while she's okay with talking to Takuto now it was still pretty awkward. ]

I see... that must be pretty awkward.

Yeah. It kinda is. It was my first relationship, and while we didn't know each other for long before we got together, I still really liked him.

[ She shook her head. ]

But well, there's no point worrying about it anymore. It's... well, over, after all.

I see. Well, you've moved on, yeah?

[She offers a smile.]

Yep. Totally moved on.

[ And she's not lying about that either. Maybe she should try to find someone else to date and see how that goes? ]

[That would be an idea Karina would totally support!]

That's great!

Yeah, it is!

[ She pauses a bit, before getting a small smirk on her face. ]

So... what about you? Anyone special in your life right now, Karina?

Well, no one really.

[But she does blush a little as she thinks about Kotetsu.]

Just someone I like.

[ Chika giggled. ]

Well then, that's more than I have right now. I guess you haven't told him yet, have you?

I've tried, but he never really gets it.

[Oblivious is definitely Kotetsu's middle name.]

Oh. Great. One of those.

[ She had plenty of experience with that back home. ]

Best bet with him is just to say it right out I guess. And make sure that it's said in a way that he can't confuse as just platonic. And hope he's not too dense to not get it if you do that either.

[She sighs.]

Well, we'll see about that. He's going through some trouble right now, so I'm going to wait until it simmers down.

Oh... yeah, that'd definitely put a damper on things, wouldn't it.

What type of trouble is he going through?

Well... it's complicated. But basically, his work partner from back home had been brought here from a very bad time. And he's been working hard to correct it. I would have helped, but he's the only one who can do that.

Ugh. More time-travel crap from BREW?

[ She paused for a moment, before letting out a sigh. ]

Well, I hope things get better for the both of them soon. I know how awkward things can be when BREW does things like that.

Yeah... I really hope so, too.
