[Well, Chika's looking much better than she did the last time she had appeared on the DEMISE network. But even so, she doesn't really look all that super happy.

Actually, she's frowning a bit, her eyes darting between the communicator and something off-screen.]

So umm... there's going to be a gala, isn't there? Like... big fancy party and... well, formal dresses and stuff.

[Chika sighs.]

Okay, I guess there's no real easy way to ask this. I need help finding a dress. For something like a gala, I really have no idea what I'm doing at all.

I need a date too, but well, need to focus on the dress first.

[Chika forces a smile to her face, hoping that she hadn't really been too loud with that last comment. She was kinda surprised that she actually said that outloud instead of just thinking it, but well, nervous.]

So umm, if anyone doesn't mind helping me look for a dress, I'd really appreciate the help.

Well, I can totally help you with the dress. Is there any kind of style you're into?

Oh, hey Karina!

And well... umm, I guess I like going for a more conservative style? At least with most of my clothes.

[She paused for a moment, thinking it over.]

Then again, most of the stuff I've been wearing I've been thinking more on if it'd be functional in a fight or working in all day, and not based on it's looks. So umm... maybe I'd be okay with something more flashy too?

[Bit of a nervous giggle coming out of her mouth.]

... But even then, this is a formal event, right? I've never worn a dress appropriate for something like that before.

Sure, I'll help you pick it out. I need to get something nice and stuff for myself too.

[And a chance to go on a shopping trip with girls! Oh it was something Kaede really missed back at home.]

[Oh, hi there Kaede. It's been a while since you and Chika talked.][You know what, why wouldn't she? Relena would have tons of experience with this stuff, and Relena was the same age as Kaede was.]

But you know, even if you don't, I think it'd be fun to go dress shopping with you anyway.

Hmm... well, I think I know the best places for clothes that could be up your alley. Care for a shopping trip?

[Karina was also thinking about inviting Kaede along, but she wasn't sure if Chika knew the younger girl.]

[Chika giggled.]

Sure! I wouldn't mind a shopping trip at all Karina!

... Besides, I'm long over do to just actually take a day off and go have fun.

[And hey, guess who's contacting Chika right after you Karina?]

[The compliment caught her offguard and causes her to turn a shade of red.]

Oh you think so? Maybe you can go with Karina too, I bet she knows about fashion than me.

That's great!

[And then she pauses for a moment...]

Say, would you happen to know Kaede Kaburagi?

Kaede? Yeah, I've talked to her a couple of times. She seems like a pretty nice kid.

... You want her to come with us? She just answered my message too.

Of course I mean it.

[She giggles.]

And actually, Karina just offered too. Maybe the three of us could go together then. I mean, I've really been kinda... well, lax on getting to know people lately and I should've tried doing something like this before now.

Ah! That's great! I'd really love that! She's a friend of mine from back home.

Okay, great! I'll go ahead and let her know then!

[She pauses though, thinking about something for a moment.]

So, how exactly do you two know each other?

Yeah I saw her! And yeah we should! When can we go together? I'm free whenever I'm not at school or training.

I don't mind, and I don't think Karina does either. So we'll definitely go together.

I'll let you know what day we're going to go after I talk it over a bit more with Karina. I'm not sure what her schedule's like this weekend... though mine's kinda busy like always.

[She giggles a bit. It was her fault for taking up management at Triple A.]

I bet you can find someone to help you with the dress, but if you need help with makeup or hair I can totally help.

[ As long as she's got something to give him in exchange. ]

If you don't mind a guy helping you, that is.

[She wouldn't mind actually, though it was kinda weird for a guy to offer.]

Okay. I'll definitely keep that in mind. It depends on what other plans I make though.

I'm a little surprised to hear a guy offering to help with makeup and stuff though.

Of course. Just tell me if you decide you need my help with it.

[ Oh, speaking her mind, is she? ]

Really? It's not that surprising, guys like those kind of things too.

[She's a Daimon. They tend to speak their minds a lot.]

Really? This is the first I heard of that. Still, it's pretty nice of you to offer. What made you interested in learning about makeup anyway?

[ He knows a Daimonji back home. He's a bit similar. ]

You've never met a guy interesed in things like that before? I hung out with a friend of mine. She got me interested. [ Never mind that 'she' was Megumyun, and they never were real friends. ]

Nope! Or at least I never met one brave enough to admit it.

[She giggles. That was kinda cute.]

I see. And was this girl just a friend, or was she also something else?

It's brave? Haven't really though of it that way.

[ Especially since he's a coward. ]

She was just a friend. [ With benefits, but is there really any need for her to know that? ]

Well... I guess it could be brave unless all the guys where you're from are into it, I guess. It'd definitely be brave in my school back home.

[And no, there wasn't any reason for her to know that at all. And she won't be pressing any more on that, at least.]

A gala? What is a gala?

Oh. Umm, a gala's like a ball. Basically, big fancy formal dance.

[She's surprised that someone doesn't know what one is, but it could just be that it's not being translated right or whatever. Or before coming her this woman's life could've been just too busy for things like that.]

Oh. [Mulan considers. It sounds like it might be fun, but she still feels so awkward around these more modern folk. At the very least outside of talking over professional matters.]

Thank you. I am not an especially good dancer, but perhaps I will see you there? When and where is it being hosted?
