[sugata was used to living a normal quiet life, so dealing with slow days was alright. but this was getting ridiculous. he wanted to do things! but he couldn't really do a lot due to an unfortunate circumstance. and if he had to watch one more death-themed cooking show he was going to blow. this cabin fever was going to be the death of him.]

What do you all do to pass the time here? Other than working or going on missions. [as much as he'd like to help, he can't really go out on any rescue missions right now.]

Because the flavors of whiskey, sweet vermouth, Angostura bitters, and maraschino cherries are highly distinct from one another and easy to tell apart by taste. Sometimes even odor. Any cocktail would probably work, but this one seemed convenient, based on the mini bar's selection.

I'm out of cherries, but it's the journey that matters. Not the destination.

When I locate more glasses I may try a gin and tonic. Sounds straightforward enough, doesn't it? Only I don't know, offhand, how tonic tastes.

I can't imagine cherries being something difficult to find. But I wouldn't know what a Gin and Tonic tastes like as I've never had an alcoholic beverage.

You wouldn't think they'd be hard to find, would you? Alas, life throws us the occasional curve ball.

It'd make sense if you couldn't find it if cherries weren't in season, but maraschino cherries are quite easy to get a hold of. At least they are back home. [and he lives on a tiny island so this place has no excuse.]

After a second check, the mini bar does appear to be depleted in its supply. For now, it will have to wait.

Have you tried checking a grocery store?

Now that sounds like a resounding success, in the interest of overcoming boredom. It's possible I've solved your problem for you.

going to the store and getting the maraschino cherries and ghostess cupcakes where probably the easiest task on his list. finding the apartment was also fairly easy, once he finally stopped to ask for directions. knocking on the door to room 713? not as easy. he lets the plastic bag slide down his arm as he manages a knock. this would be so much easier if his arm wasn't in a sling.]

It's Sugata.

[The hotel is, as temporary lodgings go, relatively swanky. There is real crystal in the lobby and the halls are lit softly and flatteringly, lined with mirrors so that the guests could appreciate every angle to the fullest extent.

When Sugata knocks, announcing himself as requested, there is a sound as a body shifts against the door, and then a slow creak as it opens just a crack. A pale hand creeps out, dropping double the total cost of the cherries and the cookies in cash.

Seemigly, he wasn't too keen on showing his face, even to someone who had been kind enough to run an errand for a complete stranger.]

[swanky swanky. sugata blinks and stares at the door as it creaks. was this like... a thing most doors did here in death city??? sugata awkwardly reaches out and catches the money in his hand. he pockets it and then hands the other the bag.]

[As a matter of fact, more doors do creak this way in Death City. It adds to the overall atmosphere, doesn't it? It's creepy and all that.

The hand grasps at the bag a few times before actually making contact. When it does,though, the bag is grasped delicately at the edge with just a thumb and a forefinger and pulled into the hotel room, with the speed of a snake retreating after striking.]
