I worked as a legal assistant back home - I was in charge of entertainment and making sure Polly didn't mess up trials too badly.

Well, the truth is I've been studying a lot of things related to detective work lately. [That's because Edgeworth let Shu work for the detective agency and he knows nothing about this stuff. He has to pull his weight around somehow.]
