7th Turn: Video | July 31th
[The video starts with an evil laugh and gleaming eyes in sinister shadows before Bakura leans forward with a grin that’s full of bared teeth. The evil spirit has spent the last days searching the city near and far for the souls of two certain multi-color-haired midgets just to return with his hands empty. He had went all the way to make sure that it was no fluke and now he had certainty of the result. Malicious killing intend is dancing in both his eyes and his voice, twisting them more away from his nice counterpart than ever as he intones a mocking chant.]
The king is dead, the king is dead, long live the king~! Isn’t that how it’s said? [He laughs derisively before he shakes his head with a haughty tsk.]
All those things, all those times …and now that! Having it end like that feels almost too easy! [His smile drops into a discontent frown that turns his eyes hard before he tsks again and shakes his head as he brushes whatever thought he had aside with a wave of his hand.
The expression he presents the network with again seconds later is that of a winner, amused and cruel. ] No more games, dear Death City, for the main actor’s dead and the rest of the story’s already settled! [He feels betrayed.]
Both the main actor and the secondary cast have been removed. [He'd wanted some more time.]
So I’m going to end the game-! [It should have been personal!!]
The only thing is.. What’s the gamemaster left to do once the game’s won and over? [The frown is back at those last words. For a moment Bakura seems honestly troubled, then he shakes his head again with a mumbled curse and ends the connection. Atem has been much more than just an enemy to him.
No amount of public gloating can replace killing him with his own hands.]

After all, this world is only about the strong crushing the weak. That's the way it works both in nature and in society.

Even when I lost it all over and over again I never once considered the option to stop and just accept it and look: it did pay in the end. [Even if not in the way he has wanted it to. But life's not the fairy tales he makes it sound to be and Bakura knows very well how to deal with what he gets (and with what he can get his hands on).]

[ It's not like Masako isn't struggling against something greater than her back in her own world either, after all. ]
Sometimes it's the only way to reach your goals.

History can sit on it and rotate for all I care.
The thing is, it happened because I made it happen. I survived to tell the tale. That's all I care about.

[ Making sure to go down in history books as a great person has practically been hammered into her head. ]

[He comes from a culture where not being remembered was considered a fate worse than a thousand deaths over, paired with growing up breaking most of its taboos dealing with the dead and their remembrance. It has made him rather pragmatic about the whole issue, as well as made him make his peace with the idea of having his existence wiped out of history as soon as he died a long time ago.]

[ And even though Masako greatly fumbles with trying to connect to people (read: she can't do it whatsoever since she doesn't have any social skills) she at least wouldn't want her existence to have been for nothing. Why would she have lived then? ]

[This is what he has to believe in since he's just another disposable part of another being now. If expectations and hopes are nothing but tying you down without having ever any chances of coming true, then it's best to just toss them over board to begin with.]

.. why would you ever consider the alternative superior?

[ Because surely nobody can know what happens after they die. ]

Besides, after all the things I've done and with everybody of my family and friends murdered as well it was pretty much to be expected. They couldn't let any witness stay alive.

A rather strange story. [ But her tone indicates she believes it even so. After all, more than one strange thing has happened in her own world lately too, so who is she to question another person's story? ]
And I can't imagine living like that would be particularly pleasant. You must be glad to be in this place instead then.
[ She sure isn't. ]

[ But he doesn't if he realises that much. No matter what your place back home is like, this place sucks. She doesn't fight for other people's sakes ever unless she picks to do so. ]
