[Karina's at the training ground and the camera is fixed at a training dummy that seems to have been frozen over. Well, it's melting now. But still, it's not everyday you see a ~~snowman~~ frozen dummy in the summer heat.]

It took me a really long time to try to learn it, but... I guess I can finally say that I can resonate with myself now. I thought about it during the attack on the city some days ago. I was doing my best to defend myself then suddenly, one of those things came too close. Next thing I knew, I blasted it away with my soul energy concentrated in one hand.

I know I still have to practice it... the way powers work in this place. But like Akiha said some days back, Meisters don't have to feel useless without a weapon.

[She pauses, thinking if she should end the feed right then and there. But a heaviness in her heart makes her continue.]

... it just feels a little lonely being without a partner.

Unfortunately, I'm a firearm. Even if I can transform partially I can't shoot myself.

[...which just sounds weird, but whatever.]

Did you ever consider finding a partner?

[Because... hello, Meister here.]

I've tried. No one's really stuck around.

[And he's not exactly the friendliest or most social guy. Still, she was a Meister and that was something to consider.]

[When Giroro finds her, she'll be amidst a few frozen dummies, sipping a bottle of water.]

[Giroro arrives and...stops a bit of distance away.

Okay. So. She's kind of prettier in person than over the communicator. What do?

[He stares for a moment before, literally, shaking his head as if he could shake off the awkwardness. When he stops he marches over and it's practically normal, if a bit more stiff than usual.

He salutes.]

I am Coporal Giroro of the Keroro Platoon.

[Well, this is odd. It's one thing to talk to this... frog-like thing over the network. But seeing him in person is totally different.

... he is cute.

Karina is beaming a bit, amused by this small round thing that came up marching to her. He seriously looked a lot like a toy. But with how serious he was, Karina had to hold herself back from acting all girlishly over him.

She closes her water bottle and sets it down, returning his salute if only because that was the polite thing to do.]

Nice to meet you. I'm Karina Lyle. From Sternbild.

[Was that how to introduce yourself to a soldier?]

<[Which is for the best, really. If she had acted like that, Giroro would have just been really confused.

He drops the salute after her introduction, though he still stands a bit stiffly...or as stiffly as a squishy alien whose body composition has a high percentage of fat can, anyway.]

[And then he pauses, before clearing his throat and awkwardly offering his hand. He may or may not be blushing a little.]

So let's see if we can resonate.

[Well, somehow the stiff attitude and posture helps keep Karina on her toes and focused on what she wanted to do: which was to really find a weapon to work with.]

[With a nod, she takes Giroro's hand without hesitation... and without noticing that he might be blushing. Well, he is red already.]
