Seventh Brew | Video | August 20, afternoon

[Judging from the racks of old-fashioned clothes that can be seen in the background, Lily is at Yesterday’s Magic this afternoon and she doesn’t seem to be alone. A fluffy gray Norwegian forest cat is sitting on the counter behind her and yawning.]

Has anyone seen Raidou today? [She sneezes and the picture goes wobbly for a moment as a black kitten in her lap meows and reaches a paw out to the communicator.]

I found his cats outside my shop this morning and can’t seem to get a hold of him or his partner. [Which makes her worry a bit that BREW might be at it again… That cotton-pickin’ contraption did seem to especially like sending certain folks back and forth.] If he doesn’t show up to claim them soon, I reckon I’m going to need a cat sitter. [Another sneeze.]

[And might as well ask about this too…]

I’m also looking for more help in my vintage clothes shop. I’ve rented the space next door and I’ve been working on expanding so I’d like to hire some more salespeople. Ideally, someone who wouldn’t mind also helping with the laundry.

[The first half of the post doesn't much catch Kyoko's attention - The name of the missing person was unfamiliar to her, so obviously no reason to comment on that. The cats themselves are a little more interesting, but it's the last few sentences that draw her in to respond.]

[Ah, Lily remembers her. The girl who had spoken of hunting witches back home.]

Yes, a vintage one to be exact. My stock spans about a century from the late 1800s to the 1980s.

[Honestly, the clothing itself seems like something that would be a little more up Mami's alley (perhaps she point the other girl in the direction of the store at some point), but it does bring a question to mind. If she seems a little less self-assured than the last time the two of them spoke, it's because the inquiry itself is a little outside of Kyoko's comfort zone.]

Is there any chance you can do repairs...?

[The question seems a bit uncertain but textiles are Lily's specialty so the answer comes easily.]

Of course. The old clothes often need a bit of fixing up before they're sold. I can only do a bit of the basics but I've got a talented tailor working for me. Was there something you needed fixed?

[That was the sort of answer she'd been hoping for. She brightens up a little before replying.]

The outfit I was wearing when I arrived got beat up pretty badly. I'm really not any good with sewing, but I didn't want to just get rid of it or anything.

[A nod.] I see. Makes sense you wouldn't want to just throw it away if it's one of the few things you have from home. I can't make any promises yet but if you bring it in, I can have Kanji take a look at it and see if he can fix it for you.

It's... pretty special. [One of a kind and all that. It's been trough some tough times, and having it lay around in disrepair as it had been was kind of an annoying reminder of the fact that she could no longer use her magic to fix it up like countless times in the past.]

What's the name of your shop? So I know where to bring it.

Yesterday's Magic. It's on the ground floor of Building C in the shopping district. Do you know where that is? It's the same building as that cafe which has had posters about parfaits all over town.

Ahh...! I know exactly where that is, I patrol out in that area. I've seen the building before plenty of times. [Of course, she's never gone in to check it out. Looks like that will be changing shortly.] Are you free right now, then?

Um, patrol? [She blinks, a bit confused.] Well, I'm in the shop at the moment but Kanji's off today so I wouldn't be able to give you a definite answer about repairs right now.

[Well, bummer about the tailor being out for the day. It dampens her enthusiasm a little, but she doesn't look too put out about it, at least.] Some other time would be probably better, then?

Yes, if you wanted to meet him, it'd have to be another day. He should be in tomorrow. [But then she remembers something.] Oh, but I need to make a trip out of town then.

He's usually around morning training too. A tall blond with a scar above one eye. He's kind of rough looking and you wouldn't expect it but he's actually really good at sewing.
