Hey everyone. Sorry for being... well, a complete mess this past week. [ But hey, at least Chika's not really all that depressed now, right? That's better... though she's still not completely happy and being her usual, excitable self. ]

Anyway, like I said last time, almost all of our regular employees at Triple A have been sent back by BREW, so we're pretty much hiring again. We have a couple of temp people from Shibusen helping out, but I'd really prefer for us to have at least a bit of a stable employee force instead of just having temp workers alternate all the time.

Don't get me wrong, they're perfectly nice people, but well... it's harder to get people who really know the Arcade like that.

[ She pauses for a moment, shifting her mirror a bit. ]

Anyway, we're looking for all positions. Ticket and token clerks, janitors, a mascot, and repair techs. If any of that sounds like something you can do and you're interested in the position, reply to this message and we'll go ahead and set up an interview in person. We're going to be hiring for a while, so don't feel bad if you're too busy to meet within the next couple of days.

Hey Tomoe-san! Is everything going well for you? I was thinking that maybe we could figure out some sort of shopping trip in the next couple of days. You know, to just hang out a bit?

Hey Kyoko! Umm... remember how you said that you wanted to try practicing with me again when I was feeling better? Well, I'm not completely better yet, but I am feeling better. I figured we could see if we could resonate together better now?

Umm... kinda. I mean, I haven't been hurt or anything Lily. It's just... well, BREW sent my partner back.

And this time I took it a lot harder than I did last time. That's all. [ Actually, that doesn't go into any detail about it at all, but still. ]

Oh. I'm sorry. [Well, that explained things better than simply employees going missing.] Were you partners for a long time?

[ Chika frowns, shaking her head. ]

Not really. At least, not compared to what native meisters and weapons would call long, anyway. But during everything we got pretty close, so it hurt a lot more this time than it did the last time my partner got sent home.

You mean this is the second partner you've had sent home? [She frowns, sorry that Chika has had such misfortune with partners. A couple of people she tried working with before have been sent back but they hadn't agreed to be partners or anything like that.] It makes me think even more that thing is sadistic.

Yeah. She was. The whole situation really sucks. There were a couple of other people that I thought about before them, but well, sometimes they got sent home too if they didn't find another partner before I got around to asking.

[ It kinda put her off trying to find another permanent one again. ]

Honestly, I don't think much of anything would surprise me about BREW at this point.

Land sakes! It sounds like you haven't been having any luck with partners at all. A couple of people I tried working with got sent back but I hadn't been thinking about being partners with them.

[She isn't sure if she wants to think about the possibility of losing her partner.]

That contraption seems to cause more trouble than anything if you ask me.

Yeah. I really haven't. It really sucks. I'm pretty sure that I shouldn't bother trying again for someone permanent. It just seems like it's too much of a hassle with BREW being, well, BREW.

[ Besides, Asuka just happened and it worked out a lot better than it did with Zero. She's not looking to replace her at all, but maybe it'd be better to just spontaneously decide it after a couple of missions together instead of actively looking. ]

[Lily gives her a sympathetic nod. She has to agree that thing is a pain in the neck!]

Is there anyone left that you can work with at least? I didn't seem to resonate that well with most of the Weapons I've tried.

Yeah. There's a couple of people that I can resonate with without too much trouble. But I think I'm kinda cheating with it, since it's pretty much because of my Meister ability. It makes resonance a lot easier for me and a weapon.

There's a Meister ability that does that? [She hadn't heard of it before.] I reckon that at least makes it a bit easier for you to find someone you can work with. But I guess you still have to learn how to use the different Weapons, huh?

Apparently, yeah. When everyone got swapped between being a Meister and a Weapon, Asuka and I couldn't resonate anywhere near as well as we usually could. No one's actually said it's an ability, but nothing else really makes sense.

And yeah, I do need to learn how to use different weapons. Which makes finding a new partner harder if I don't want to deal with having to learn how to use something else. [ She's already gone from sword to spear. Last thing she needs to do is have to learn something else like a scythe or something.]

Huh. That does sound odd otherwise. Resonating with my partner seemed to be the same even when we got switched around.

Maybe you could find someone similar to a weapon type you've used before. What have you used so far? [She doesn't particularly keep up with what Weapons are around though so she's not sure if she'll have any helpful ideas.]

Yep. Now I just need to figure out if I can somehow make it work better or not, I guess.

I've mostly used swords before, but my last partner was a spear.

Swords and spears... I can't say that anyone who turns into either of those comes to mind for me. [She'd never taken much note of the more conventional Weapon forms since she didn't know how to wield such things herself. She shook her head.] Sorry.

It's okay. I do have some plans to practice with someone who's a spear, so it's not like I don't have any options.

Thanks for trying to think of someone though.

Ah. You were able to find another spear? I wouldn't have thought of that as a common weapon. I hope that works out better for you then.

Yeah. I know, but I'm not going to question it too much. I'm not sure if the two of us would make good permanent partners or not, but at least we're not completely helpless now.

[A nod.] That's something at least. It's bad to be caught without your partner if demons start showing up in town.

[She can't think of much else to add so...] If you'll excuse me, there's a few chores I should take care of tonight.

[ Chika nods. ]
