[The video comes on to a kimono-clad lady who seems to be mid-tirade, hiding in a back alley. She doesn't know how to aim a camera at her face so you get to see her upside down, mostly a chest shot.]

--if I'm not checking the knitting of the bones and nerves he may lose use of his hand. Ken-san, his body is still recovering from fighting that Shishio Makoto! He nearly died and he needs treatment still! Not to mention, I have patients in Tokyo who are waiting for me to return. Furuhashi-san’s baby won’t deliver itself, and she is a first-time mother. Dr. Gensai will need my help.

Are you even listening? [She smacks the mirror with her hand a few times for good measure, frowning angrily.] I went on your "tour" and I don't care what you want me to do. I've had enough of this. You spoiled little "Death God" boy, and all of you brightly-colored-hair devils, you stop playing around with people’s lives. Human beings are not your pawns to control. Return me to that train right now.

[She huffs imperiously and pushes buttons. She thinks she has turned the mirror off, but has actually simply pressed the wrong button. Now she moves off-camera and is muttering to herself in worry and panic.]

Tch. What am I to do...? This can’t possibly be real--

Well, yes, that~ But not all modern fashion shows that much skin. Some girls dress up like European dolls, and others seem to try to cover themselves with as many colorful accessories as possible...

Like European dolls? Honestly? How silly.

[He laughs again.] It was a little strange the first time I saw it! But it actually looks very elegant and cute, so I can see why they'd want to dress up like that.

Ah, is that so. Well, I'm already an old grown woman of 22. I no longer worry about being "cute." Such things are for young little maidens.

[Ah, how standards have changed! He wouldn't really think of 22 as "old." He smiles.] Mm, a mature woman looks much better in something elegant. [Then his tone gets a little flirty.] Like your lovely kimono.

[Megumi scoffs. Fact is she's never heard talk like this that was directed at her. She puts on her tough exterior, because he's got to be making fun of her now.]

Why, this old thing? This is what I wear to perform surgery.

It might seem ordinary to you, but in my time period most people only wear kimono for holidays and festivals. A lot of young men dream of seeing the girl they like in one.

[Megumi turns up her nose and tosses her hair.]

Young men dream of all kinds of stupid things. Why should I care.

[chuckle] Oh, I see. Do you prefer older men?

I prefer my work. Men don't understand such things. Nor do they care to try.

[The tone of her voice picks up a snappish clip]

Why are you asking such personal questions of a lady? This is suspicious.

Ah--[Hmm, looks like he's pushed this a bit too far. His tone becomes apologetic.] Sorry--I didn't mean to get too personal.

Then you should mind yourself. I'm a respectable woman [NOW ANYWAY, she hears herself think] and I am not interested in whatever fiendish thing it is that you are plotting.

[...Then he bursts out laughing. He can't help it, Himeno thought he was up to something when they first met, too, and he can't help but find it amusing.] OH--oh no. S-sorry! [He coughs in an attempt to stop laughing. It's...mildly effective.] I'm not plotting anything, I'm--[chuckle]--just teasing a little.

[It's quite amazing to her how she got this far from being afraid, but she knows her loved ones are here now, from their responses-- most of them anyway-- and Megumi doesn't like the suspicious feeling she's getting from this one. She can't stop herself from sassing back.]

Go tease someone else. I'm not so gullible. And I don't have any money for you to steal.

[He has to suppress a laugh again.] Sensei, I don't have any reason to want to steal money from you when you've just arrived. Money from our worlds aren't any good here.

[She's so unused to being called just plain sensei, without the onna tacked on as if to differentiate a "woman" doctor from a "real," "regular" doctor. It completely catches her by surprise.]

[She takes a breath and clears her thoughts.]

So that's true, is it? They were telling me that I must show this communication tool at a shop and I can get things I need, as long as they're necessities for living.

Yes, that's what I've heard. I've also heard that we can get jobs to earn money here, if we want things that are more luxurious.

Hmmmm. I suppose I'll have to do that straightaway, then.

How about you, Mr. Questions? Have you got a job? What are your skills.

Oh, back home I have a radio show--[pause] Ah, you probably wouldn't know what that is. The technology might take a while to explain, but basically...I have what's called an "advice" show. People ask me for advice, and I help them as much as I can. Sometimes I'll sing, too, if I think it'll help.

I haven't decided what job I should get here. I've been told that there's a radio station looking for someone to hire, so since I have experience I might try that. But I also want to help out with the Watch, too. I have a little fighting experience. So...I just need to figure out which I want to do more. [He smiles and shrugs.] Or I could try doing both.

Advice? You give advice and you're paid to do this?

Goodness me, what an ego you must have from such an occupation! Are you something like the village matchmaker, then? Or astrologist?

[laughs] I try not to have an ego...[Although he does have one. Probably any of the Knights could tell you that.] I don't read the movements of the stars or tea leaves or anything else, so I'm not really an astrologist. And I don't exactly matchmake people on my show, but...I do give relationship advice, so I guess I'm a little like a matchmaker?
