Something in the water, they said? Something...something in the water...hahaha...

[Clover has to surpress a laugh, though she doesn't do an entirely good job of it. She knew she couldn't trust this place more than she could trust the other participants in the Nonary Game.

But now...]

Forget it. I don't care! I don't care anymore, just make it stop--

[She is clutching her head, and suddenly it's not clear whether she's laughing or crying anymore.]

[Her voice is weak...and the feed shuts off.]

[She stops suddenly, after the words sink in. The smile is a bit off-putting to say the least, but she's been guilty of her own twisted smiles in the past--

So she doesn't let it bother her.

She focuses more on what he's saying.]

I turned into a statue while I was showering. I became a person again this morning...

[...Sure, that seems normal. She didn't think the water was affecting them physically, too; she mainly thought it was messing with their heads.]

[She certainly hopes you didn't remember it all. Just standing there, frozen the entire time...]

[He shrugs.] I'm used to it.

[The elevator stands before them. Minato summons it.]

Did they follow us, Clover-san? We can also take the stairs...

She'd heard footsteps a moment ago, and she'd been afraid to look (though she'd never admit it). She does, though, because what else is she going to do while they wait for the damn thing?

She simply stares without answering. If there had been anyone there before, they aren't now.

She tries not to look relieved when she shakes her head.]

[He follows her gaze down the corridor. He's the one who appears relieved when she shakes her head.]

I must be good luck. [Minato smiles at her broad and genuine. The elevator arrives and he slides his hand down her arm to pull her by the hand this time.] Come.

[Good luck?

Pffft well, she doesn't know about that. She doesn't even hear the ding of the elevator, so she seems a little surprised to be dragged inside...but of course, that's probably to be expected.

She is trying to shake free of his grip, now that she feels a little more secure; even as he casually grabs onto her hand. Though unfortunately she's still silent while doing so.]

[It's a silent elevator ride down. The door opens, and Minato leads the way, this time without the grip. He glances back over his shoulder as he exits the elevator.

Only a lobby left to cross.] We're almost there.

Outside, right?

[...That's what he said before. She's still following; she wants the fresh air more than she realizes.]

Yeah, outside...

Here. [At the lobby entrance, Minato pushes open the double doors dramatically, allowing a cool gust to billow into the building. He grins broadly--the sensation is one he was looking for also, and he lets it wash away the unseen tension from earlier born of his concern for Clover's well-being. Hopefully, it has a similar effect on her.]

She doesn't see what's so dramatic about it...it isn't as if she hasn't walked out of this building a million times before, since she arrived, but--

Heh. She kind of appreciates the effort.

She starts to look around, blinking. Staring at this, that, that other thing--

She doesn't know how, but it's a lot easier to forget about things. Maybe that's because he's here, too.]

Are you hungry? [He's still smiling at her.] We can go out to eat. [And to a movie, and to the park, and to the mall, and to the small shops...]

[SOUNDS SUSPICIOUSLY LIKE A DATE.

I'm not, really. But we might as well.

[He's already dragged her all the way out here. And that's kind of a lie, anyways. Now that he mentions it, she does feel a little hungry...]

[Well, it's because we're now outside and need something to do...

He considers carefully.]

Do you like burgers? That's the speciality here. [America = Burger]

They're okay.

[Being that they're the specialty, she's likely had them at least once or twice since she's been here. And she doesn't expect it to taste any different with him around, but--

She shrugs.

A burger is a burger is a burger. It's a pretty common food, so she is apathetic.]

[That wasn't really a positive response...

[She's quick to answer, seeming a little more enthusiastic-- though it's more in a "duh" way. "Like, doesn't everyone?"

[But she imagines a place like this has options.]

I bet you're a strawberry cake person... [He looks at her hair when he says that. At the next corner, then, they hook a right.]

[What why...she looks a bit self-conscious when he stares, but otherwise seems composed, comparative to a little while ago.]
