[daddyscythe]

[Spirit appears, fixing the camera angle, zooming in and out of his somewhat dirty and dusty self. It's smudged brown in a corner and he scrapes it off with an equally dirty fingernail, whispering something to an unseen man next to him.]

You sure this is secure only to our agents? [There's a 'Yes, sir!' and Spirit nods, and clears his throat.]

Our scouts tracked down the witches to their new hide out, where they've taken our people. It's the... Grand Canyon, in one of the cave networks there. The scouts reported that the prisoners are alive for now, but they can't get into the caves to check what's going on in there.

[deep breath] We're launching a rescue mission on the fifth -- the day after tomorrow. That's the shortest time we can be underway, because our scouts have to set up our transportation mirror there and we need to recover here. Sign up with the guys if you want to come -- we'll take unpartnered fighters, too, as long as you promise not to take on kishin egg on your own in case there are any.

And... [hesitates for a moment, and then reluctantly:] The witches didn't just come here to pick up random people. They were specifically targeting the Meisters and Weapons among us, but we don't know why yet. Be triple careful in the mission, all right?

They were also after our witch prisoner, who's been giving us some tips on her sisters' activity. Cybele gave us the info on the transmitters in Europe that last time, among other things. Seems the witches weren't happy with how we ruined their big project and we barely managed to save her from, well, death. [shrugs, as if he deals with witch assassinations all the time. Actually, he does.] She's pretty much on our side now after what they tried to do, so don't be too surprised if a lion lady takes a walk around town once in a while. Don't worry, we're keeping a good lock down on her magic until we're sure she can be trusted. [tiredly] Not the first time we've had witches on our side, at least...

[clears his throat] A bunch of us guys are still trying to identify and bury the undead. We've dragged the whole lot of them to the southeast side of the city to keep the smell away, though. Uuh, just don't wander over there for a few days.

Our movie will have to wait a few more days. How are you... doing?

Yeah. I like the city. It won't ever be a home, but it comes pretty close. It's a nice change of pace from my life recently, and, it really does seem similar to Konoha. If I could choose my destination after I've been kidnapped, there'd be no better place than this. Honestly. [ the way she says this definitely makes it clear that this is a compliment. ] Even when I'm here, sometimes I forget about the war and the conditions around it. That's an environment I never really felt at home, you know?

[He looks... touched. Because, well, this world is practically his baby now that they have to take care of it.] Thank you. It's nice that you like it here. I like it a lot myself.

Some people don't appreciate that sort of thing. [chuckle] Mostly, people just want to go home. Well! Can't blame them for that!

Yeah. I have to admit, being kidnapped here is a setback, but I don't think that gives me the right to deface this place. I mean, you've been friendly and hospitable. [ If it was a hostile kidnapping, then she'd be running through the streets with explosives and red war paint on her face. ]

[daddyscythe]

[What does Spirit say to that.] Well! We're always friendly and hospitable! Don't mind Azusa, she really does like you guys!

[weaponry]

Of course I know Azusa likes us! She's one of the kindest people I've met here! She can be firm yet gentle! [ Tenten's experiences and views are heavily biased but still, Spirit, this statement just can't but help but to look odd, even when partnered with everything else going on right now. ]

[daddyscythe]

She acts like she has a tough exterior, but she's just like us, too! [What's weird about it? Azusa chops his head, too!]

[weaponry]

It's that type of attitude that fosters our growth and keeps us in line! [ Tenten often adopts a similar role for Team Guy. ]

[daddyscythe]

That's true! Chops tot he head included! [But what does that say about you, Spirit, that your own daughter has to discipline you?]

[weaponry]

[ Tenten doesn't say anything at first. She just giggles. It's like Death City had its own version of Guy-sensei. ]

If you and Guy-sensei somehow aren't related, I'd be surprised.

[daddyscythe]

We're friends! [That's a relation, right?]

[weaponry]

I meant related in a family sense. [ Tenten's side eyes Spirit for this response. ]

[daddyscythe]

Oh, well. We're not, but I wouldn't mind if we were related. [Not getting it, nope.]

[weaponry]

[ He finally got it now! ] I think if you two were related, that family would be too intense to handle. [ The entire world would collapse with such loud cheerfulness in one place! ]

[daddyscythe]

We're not that bad! We just have a lot of love to give! [Spirit has more self-awareness, maybe.]

[weaponry]

I know! I know! But still, most people can barely handle Guy-sensei and his enthusiasm without being tired out. [ It took Tenten months to adjust! ] The two of you together would wear out just about anyone.

[daddyscythe]

[wink] That means you guys need to have more endurance, doesn't it! We old men will teach you kids yet!

[weaponry]

[ Oh God! The "you lack x so we will train for it" speech! She knows this all too well! ]

...I'm fine. If I can keep up with Guy-sensei for four years, [ The first year was rough! ] I don't need the endurance.

[daddyscythe]

That's a good point!

[griiiin] But can you keep up with both of us?


[and then Spirit is laughing] I'm just kidding!

[weaponry]

I've had enough of Guy to tolerate someone similar to him and him at once. Just don't start running together. I don't think I'll be able to handle that. [ OR ELSE SHE'LL DIE. That's the one thing she can never keep up with! ]

[daddyscythe]

I'll keep it in mind. [grinning; that means they HAVE to try it!]

[weaponry]

Uh oh. You aren't planning on trying it are you? [ NO NO NO NO NO OH PLEASE GOD NO. ]

[daddyscythe]

I'm... not! Really. [Jumble the punctuations a bit...]

You totally are! [ She noticed that jumbled punctuation! ]
