[Truly brilliant. Next he'll be fiddling with the video... aaaand there it goes. SUDDENLY IT IS VIDEO. Hiccup blinks and he flinches back away from the communicator before leaning in toward it, clearly fascinated.]

[He grins a little and leans back.]

[WHOOPS HE DIDN'T REALIZE HE WAS ACTUALLY BROADCASTING AND NOW HE IS FLUSTERED BUT TRYING TO RECOVER]

Sorry! Sorry, I just... um. I'm trying to figure the communicator... thing... out. Um. I kind of come from a time when we didn't have like. Anything you've got here so... yeah. Figuring stuff out! Super fun times. Woo.

Anyway. I'm Hiccup, hi. Yes, that is my name.

Um. So... uh. [HE WASN'T PLANNING ON BROADCASTING WHAT DO] So what do you guys do around here? I mean I know there's a war going on... or something... but how does that actually work? Do we get attacked a lot? And what do you do when that isn't happening? The city is waaaay different from Berk, so... I'm kind of lost here.

I know I'm kind of asking a lot of questions and I'm sorry but. Yeah. Confused. So. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

[LOOK HE CAME FROM A VIKING VILLAGE they were pretty well set on the barter system as well as just helping each other survive money's not a thing...]

[From a land that did not handle money...hmm.]

Money, the general name for something used to purchase goods such as food, buildings, weapons, pets, knives, and the like. I believe they call money here dollars or something close to that. Where I hail from, people mainly used gold as money, but some always just bartered or parleyed with actual goods, such as trading lumber for a home-cooked meal, and so on.

It's okay if you don't understand it as well as you'd like at the moment; coming from a world entirely different to this one was quite a shock to myself as well.

I do not mean to appear pushy, but if you have difficulty understanding what is going on here in Shibusen, I think attending this party tomorrow would be a great benefit to your knowledge if this land! I am a bit confused with a few things here, and seeing that I will be a resident here for who knows how long, I may as well attend this party myself so I can learn as much as I can before I get lost!

Oh. Huh. We did some bartering but mostly it was just everybody does stuff for everybody else. I mean, kinda had to, to survive and all.

Yeah? I was thinking about it. It is pretty confusing, but... I think I'm getting the hang of it. Sort of. Kind of.

I can understand that. When I, myself, was a lad, I had to learn how to perform certain...deeds in order to just survive. But!

[He points a finger straight toward Hiccup.]

You must learn to adjust to your new environment! You are no longer in your homeland, you are in Death City, Nevada. You will need to learn about life in this city if you plan on staying here throughout the war!

[He lowers his hand and flashes a grin of support.]

You're not alone in this very strange place lad, you will do just fine.

Also, if you see me while you are residing here, and if you wish for company, you are fully encouraged to strike up a good ol' face-to-face conversation like we both are used to! I bid you the best here in Death City, farewell!
