Um. So... uh. [HE WASN'T PLANNING ON BROADCASTING WHAT DO] So what do you guys do around here? I mean I know there's a war going on... or something... but how does that actually work? Do we get attacked a lot? And what do you do when that isn't happening? The city is waaaay different from Berk, so... I'm kind of lost here.

I know I'm kind of asking a lot of questions and I'm sorry but. Yeah. Confused. So. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

There's only really been one attack on the City since I've been here, which is about four months now. We're thankfully pretty protected!

And are you thinking things like day to day things or like missions and things like that to help in the war?

Well that's a relief. Back at home we could expect attacks on the village pretty much every other night during the summer.

THIS WAR WORKS THE SAME BASIC WAY ALL OTHER WARS WORK. THERE'S OUR SIDE, THERE'S THE SIDE WE'RE UP AGAINST, AND THE OBJECT IS TO HURT THEM ENOUGH TO MAKE THEM REALIZE IT'S NOT WORTH IT IN THE LONG RUN AND FUCK OFF SO WE CAN ALL GO BACK TO WHATEVER WE WERE UP TO BEFORE BREW DECIDED TO START ITS INTERDIMENSIONAL SWIPING SPREE.

it's a lot to pay attention to, okay? they like dumped all the info on us all at once and when you're faced with OH HEY WELCOME TO ANOTHER WORLD WHERE EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT it's a little hard to catch everything

and the last war I was in was against hundreds of dragons so obviously it's going to be different here. the question isn't WHAT'S A WAR it's do we get attacked here in the city a lot or does it happen somewhere else.

and if all you're going to do is complain why are you even replying in the first place?

Don't worry lad, I had difficulties with the communicator when I first arrived as well. Yes, the technology here is quite different from my homeland as well, but once you learn how to use the communicator, it can do wonders!

To be quite honest, I don't know much of what to do here in Death City while not being attacked, but there are numerous businesses looking for employment, if you didn't mind working for some extra money!

Also, I heard that there will be a pool party, I believe it is called, tomorrow, the seventh of March, in the afternoon!

[seems like everyone else has got questions about the war handled -- in varying degrees of politeness, anyway -- so qilby opts to put on his nicest horn-hatted old man smile and address the last bit.]

I spend much of my time studying in the library as I, like you, came from a world where the technology was not quite as advanced in some areas. [in others, far more advanced. but dvd players are pretty cool.] There's much to be learned here in the realms of science, as you might imagine, but indeed there's also a rich cultural history to read up on should that be something that interests you.

[it's not like qilby would want to be JUDGMENTAL or anything but this kid... doesn't really sound like the.... fighting type. more like the book nerd type to be honest.]

There aren't many attacks, but... there are missions that people go on, to fight the Kishin.

[ Yoichi sounds a little curious, as he goes on. ] Where is Berk?

It's on an island out in the middle of gods-forsaken nowhere. The only thing nearby is the dragon nest and we don't even know where that is.

The Watch helps to patrol the city and watch out for signs of attacks. There's morning training from 6am to 9am every morning, so if you want to learn how to fight, get better at fighting, or just practice, it's a good place to go. It's also a good place to meet a Weapon or Meister partner.

The war stretches across the entire world, so battles are everywhere. Sometimes they are in Death City, and sometimes some of us from Death City go to the battles that are elsewhere.

The city has been attacked three times since I arrived about four months ago and Shibusen's launched four attacks against the enemy forces.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but in between that I mostly spend my time between the library, training and work. Back when I had a partner I also did missions too.
