[The video shows not the sender's face, but a puppy, most of a black-clad leg, and a bare foot with the remnants of black polish on the toenails. The puppy's growling and tugging at the jagged hem of the leather pants, as if they're a threat that must be neutralized.]

Who the hell does this belong to?

[Mello tries to pull his leg away, but the puppy seems to see this as escalation of the game, and gives a little bark before seizing the leather again.]

Hey! These were expensive, you little fucker!

[The picture goes dark as the communicator lands on the floor.]

[Inukashi laughs at that. With the noise, two other dogs appear on his back, bigger dogs, a white and a black one.

The puppy most likely got 3 times more excited as his whole pack appears on the screen]

I'm Inukashi. [If he understand japanese, the name means "dog loaner".]

[Mello understands Japanese, and the puppy clearly recognizes the dogs on the video.]

I don´t need to. Who do you think you are talking with. [Inukashi sighs, seriously, did they think dogs were babies?

His expression changes as he makes his serious expression. The dog stops with the excitement, freezing on the spot and staring at the screen.

Inukashi makes a movement with his head, a nod to the left. Nothing more is needed as the dog looks adoringly to Mello, licks the leather for a last time and starts walking away.
The dog is returning home now.]

If he comes back and is bothering you, call me. [which probably would happen a lot, since the dog seemed to have taken a liking to Mello.]

[Mello's impressed in spite of himself that Inukashi accomplished that with one motion, and he switches back to video so the kid will know his face if they run into each other.]

I'm Mello, by the way.

Is that some kind of power, or is he really well-trained?

[Mello is also, once in a great while, less of a jerk about something than he makes himself out to be.]

Does he have a name? He reminds me of someone. Except for the total obedience part, heh.

[He memorizes the face, since this sort of thing will most likely happen again now that the dog took a liking to him]

Power? [He laughs] Well, you could say that, but it's just experience. I lived with dogs my whole life after all.

[He remembers that that one actually does have a name] I don't usually name them, but that one was named by a friend of mine. [which was gone unfortunately] His name is Fuckface

[Mello was tempted to decide the puppy's name was Mail, in retaliation for the kitten named Mihael, but he'd wince every damn time he said it.]

[Again with that strange necessity about naming dogs... Go figure] Well, don't really mind what you call him. [It wasn't like he used names anyway, like he had just showed] I used to work for this friend of mine, and he complained that he needed a name to call that dog if he was going to show up at work everynight, so I let him name him.

It's not like he is around anymore... [somewhat less cheerful expression, since it was something who he had fun with and he missed him a little...]

Neither is Matt.

[Mello's expression doesn't change, but his voice goes flat in the way of someone masking emotion.]

What does the little monster like to eat?

In case he comes back, so I have something to give him that I'm not wearing.

[Inukashi couldn't help but give a wide smirk at that question. One thing which he was good at was to read others, and it seemed like his little pup had actually found a good food source.]

He doesn't really mind what you give him, as long as he can eat it. [Inukashi never heard of food actually made for dogs, since he was used to dividing whatever he had with his pack] Tho he will probably thank you by playing more.

[Maybe he would actually teach this guy how to exert dominance...
After it gets less funny of course.]

Was he your friend? [A white dog shows up in the screen, licking Inukashi's cheek and winning a pet with that]

Yeah. My best friend.

[He half-shrugs, as if to say, what can you do?

If he'll play with my partner's toys, instead of my trousers, I'll give him steak.

[He doesn't really get worried, but loses the grin] Well, that sucks then.

[He blinks at the offer]

I can actually order him to do that... But I would like a steak also. [Never let go an offer of an easy meal]

Sure.

[The lego fortress they worked on together is still in the living room, and Near's been adding to it. That's not what Mello points the camera at, but it's visible for a moment as he finds a toy robot to focus on.]

There's about a dozen of these things around.

[Inukashi pulled the puppy on his lap, since he had arrived a minute ago, and allowed the puppy to examine that image.

Then he made a small head gesture, before saying.]

Target.

[The puppy barked, his tongue coming out in an excited way.]

[Mello has to laugh.]

Will he obey anyone who knows the right gestures?

No, he obeys to me, the pack leader... Tho if he had a different leader he wouldn't follow this gestures [grins mischievously]

But tell him I'm not a plaything.

That might be a little hard. He is young so he forgets stuff very fast.
