[ When idle, her mind would naturally wander to home and concerns or vague considerations revolving around Fiore of the guild, and today was no different. And, well, it’d be a lie to say she wasn’t mildly curious. Carefully, transferring the message over to text, she begins to type, a watchful finger for each key. ]

I’ve noticed that not many of you seem accustomed with the concept of a “guild,” but “magic” is different, right? Which brings me to my next question! ☆

What was magic like back in your world? Was it something commonplace? Reserved for certain types of people? I guess, you could say that I have time to spare and I’m really curious! I’ll be waiting for your replies--! ☆

Not really.
Everybody just expects miracles, flowers and sparkles from it and gets all uppity when somebody points out that it's not like that. They have no clue what real magic is.

What was "real" magic like back in your world?

I think it differs from world to world, but I do think magic can symbolize a lot of things for people. Even those who don't use it. After all, that's what tournaments and stuff would be for! It'd be pointless if there wasn't those who could enjoy it, right?

Dark. Powerful, too. Only a handful of chosen ones could really use it.

Was there no opposing magic to that?

There wasn't. It's only one kind of magic and it was up to those who could wield it for what it was used.

Then, it could technically be used for good, right?

It could, but it still comes for the same high price.

Besides, whose good are we talking about? The one for you? For your friends? For the people in power?

For your friends, of course!

They're the people you trust, after all.

So you'd but the happiness of your friends over that of those who are not? I think that's a dangerous way of thinking.

Don't misunderstand...

It's just in general, I think there's a basis for these things. I trust their judgement as well as my own. Plus, I think friends can be made anywhere. I don't think "this over that" is really a way to think about it...

Yet that's how the world works. Pull away all the pretty sand and glitter they put into your eyes and you'll see that it's always about personal gain.

I don't know what happened to you to make you think that, but I won't believe in something like that.

Call it simple experience.

I've never met a person who wouldn't be 'corrupted' by the power they got and I've been around for a while.
