[Guess who been peering at the surveillance footage with extra attention today, Death City?]
I see BREW has decided to bring in another batch of seemingly clueless individuals. Here's to hoping that DEMISE won't be flooded with the many variations of "I just got here and I don't know what to do".
Pay attention to the tour, for the sake of Death City's collective patience.
[Isn't he just a ray of sunshine.]
[voice | filtered to Mello, L and Sollux]
[Time for more serious matters. Near switches to voice and wastes no time in giving the news.]
Matt was brought back.
[He ends the transmission; if they want to know anything else, then they can ask for more information. He's fairly certain Mello's far from awake right now, though, so he returns to his partner's bedroom and walks to his bed, shakes Mello's shoulder just a little bit to wake him up.]

You will only put yourself at risk if you run blindly to wherever he is currently located.
[His voice is uncharacteristically firm, and the word choice is deliberate, meant as a verbal slap to the face. Stop and listen, you stubborn troll.]
He's on the move and hiding from the surveillance cameras. No matter how much you want to see him, let Mello do it first.
[He hopes that the meaning behind his words gets through Sollux's thick alien skull, because he really doesn't want to say it out loud. He may not know who you are.]

Why in fuck would he--
[ It comes out explosive, and stutters out to nothing, a fire quenched as soon as it started. Let Mello see him first. There's no other reason Matt would choose to avoid the surveillance around the city if he knew what they were and who put them there. Who monitored it.
There's a curious hollow sensation in the pit of his bile sac, expanding even as he stutters to a stop in the middle of the building hallway.
It's a full minute before he speaks next. ]
You'll let me know how it goes, right?
[ Calmly casual and his tone is so much a lie he's surprised he hasn't choked on it yet. ]

Perhaps we should be focusing our energies on finding a way to silence them quickly rather than crossing our fingers that they learn before our last nerve frays into nonexistence.
text;
Overloading their senses with all the necessary information could do the trick. That would keep their minds busy, and in turn, silence whatever parts of their anatomy they use in order to communicate.
text;
I was thinking something more along the lines of reviving that time-honored tradition of convincing the newest batch of arrivals to throw themselves down the stairs, although I'll certainly admit your method is a bit more humane.
text;
Unfortunately, your solution could lead to a sudden increase in the number of spinal injuries, rendering newly arrived Meisters mostly useless. The last thing we need is newcomers whining about being lost in a new world and being unable to walk.

Oh. Right. It takes the pieces a moment to fall into place, but they get there. Near's not next to him because he's the one shaking him.]
Mmmphwhat?
[action]
You need to sober up in the next few minutes, and for the sake of your head, don't sit up too quickly when you hear what I have to say.
[No, he's not worried. He just wants Mello to be as functional as possible to go find Matt, that's all.]
It's Matt. BREW brought him back.
[action]
The next thing he does is clutch his head.]
Oh, for fuck's sake. Why would you do that?
[Ouch, ouch. Quiet needs to happen. His own voice made his head pound.]
Damnit. Are you sure?
[action]
I warned you, idiot.
[The remark is a lot less harsh than it could have been; perhaps because it was whispered out instead of spoken out loud.]
And yes, I'm sure. I saw him on camera, before he decided to hide from the entire surveillance network.

He grabs the communicator away from Near, who's started to mumble something like I'm not--, and glares into it.]
Don't flirt with my Weapon.
