[Contrary to expectations, maybe, it isn't Kid who's addressing everyone after the last mission this time. Spirit's decided that Kid needs a bit of time to rest, and is taking it upon himself to do what he can. He's really pretty disappointed he couldn't really go on the mission with everyone else, but well, now he can pick up the pace in Kid's place. That'll have to be enough.]

Hello everyone! Welcome back to those who went on the mission. I hear it was really tough, but good news! It was a success. The Emitter was successfully destroyed, and the witch guarding it was killed. As a result, we're already seeing a drop in Madness levels around the area. We're currently looking into the location of the next Emitter, but in the meantime, make sure you all get some rest. You've certainly earned it.

[He's looking at you, Kid. And everybody else he knows works too hard.]

What happens to the witch's soul?

Kid is holding on to it for now. He and his partners are the ones who defeated the witch, so they'll be keeping it until his partners are ready to become Deathscythes.

I see. [He goes silent for a time.] My partner and I will soon earn the right to hunt a witch for her soul. I hope it's as successful as this attempt was.

Here's hoping. We need every capable pair we can get.

I'm glad we managed to destroy the Emitter...

But I had a question, Mr. Albarn, if you don't mind me asking. Killing the witches... Is that the only option? It's been the one chosen for a while, but is it necessary?

Well... What would you suggest? Keep in mind that the witches are powerful, extremely crafty, and the ones we're fighting are determined to destroy us in one way or another.

And there's no sort of high security facility to keep them in?

The kind of staffing it would take to secure a facility like that would take up most of our forces-- which we need to fight, find Emitters, and investigate any other disturbances. We can't bring them into Shibusen-- they're crafty enough to try and destroy us from the inside.

I appreciate the sentiment and concern but you know I heal quickly. At the very least I could have made the announcement.

You heal quickly, but not instantaneously! It's still better for you to rest when others can handle something like this. Even you need some time to recuperate!

That is fantastic news! Out of curiosity, who was it that defeated the Witch?

So it took no less than the Shinigami and a Witch combined... Perhaps I have been underestimating the forces we are dealing with.

[Which is why he's suddenly a lot more interested in the war. Being incapacitated within weeks of first showing up? Now that's just bad for his image.]

Hn... It's easy to underestimate them when you've never fought one before. It's always a dangerous mistake to make.

The first two Emitters were found in hostile, extreme areas. Could there be a pattern as to their locations, or are these conditions vital for the Emitters to work?

[Underground at the end of a flooded tunnel, and on a snowy mountain. Those were definitely extremes.]

It's a possibility we're looking into. At the very least, hostile, extreme areas are hard for us to get to, so they'd add an ideal layer of extra protection.

They are, but some places need not be extreme to be inaccessible.

Or will they just be low levels?

We expect them to drop to negligible amounts.
