Recently I was introduced to a practice that does not exist in my home world.

Said practice is 'marriage' and I became rather curious about it. Someone suggested to me that I read some wedding planning books or romance novels to learn more about it. I asked one of the sales person at the nearby bookstore for their most popular romance novels.

[At this point there is a very long pause in Disciple's reading as she tries to find a way to put this politely. She was pretty certain what she had been reading in these books was exaggerated, or some weird fetish fulfillment but what if it wasn't and she just ended up insulting a bunch of people?]

am confused. By a lot of things I have read in these books and would like clarification on some things so I do not go off with the wrong ideas of the romantic practices of humans. I'd rather not go into detail about what I have read in some of these books since I understand we have some young ones with access to this network, so if someone could just tell me about marriage and the human quadrant system I would be much obliged.

I think so! Though if I'm understanding it all correctly, then there's a sort of parallel in Earth culture. Unless you have best friends where you're from?

Because it all sounds a lot like how romance and the like can affect best friends. I mean, I don't really know the specifics of such things, but I've read about best friends falling for each-other while the one they're dating gets left to the wayside.actually

We do, though I suppose if there was any parallel to a moirail that would be it. The biggest difference I suppose would be the emphasis moirails have on balancing. As trolls can be very violent and volatile depending on their blood caste, one often acts as a pacifier to ensure they do not go out of control.
