Recently I was introduced to a practice that does not exist in my home world.
Said practice is 'marriage' and I became rather curious about it. Someone suggested to me that I read some wedding planning books or romance novels to learn more about it. I asked one of the sales person at the nearby bookstore for their most popular romance novels.
[At this point there is a very long pause in Disciple's reading as she tries to find a way to put this politely. She was pretty certain what she had been reading in these books was exaggerated, or some weird fetish fulfillment but what if it wasn't and she just ended up insulting a bunch of people?]
I
[And there she stops again]
am confused. By a lot of things I have read in these books and would like clarification on some things so I do not go off with the wrong ideas of the romantic practices of humans. I'd rather not go into detail about what I have read in some of these books since I understand we have some young ones with access to this network, so if someone could just tell me about marriage and the human quadrant system I would be much obliged.

I'm not really sure what you mean by that, but marriage is a wonderful thing! I suppose you could say...it binds two people in love together.
[ text ]
For us trolls we have a quadrant system when it comes to love, each one fulfills a certain emotional and societal n33d.

I can't imagine romance for trolls being exceptionally different from romance for humans. Based on what Sine's told me about the quadrant system, I think the differences with marriage are just the number and amount of dedication...? Basically, for humans, it's normal to have only one significant other and to only be with that one person. And then marriage is just a legal binding contract that recognizes that the two involved are dedicated to supporting each other for better of for worse until death. That's really about all there is to say.
{ video / text }
That's pretty straight forward, though in truth the books that have me most baffled did not really touch much on marriage. I guess it's just mostly the
[Ah]
Dynamics of the relationship.

I suppose to begin with, what would you say are the most noticeable differences between troll romance and human romance? I do know they do not have quadrants, is there anything else?

[Yes]
Well, perhaps some were explicit in some parts, but it was so poorly written it was more awkward and humorous than anything else.
[Some weren't all that bad...]
Friends, are you?
Text - This may be potentially bad
Text - And beautiful
Regardless, thank you for your offer to help, and you've now made me curious. Are discussions like these particularly taboo?
[Though she is equally curious about Ammy's take on humans as a whole]

I know, it's limiting.
The human idea of 'romance,' which is essentially bullshit, is roughly, and I do mean roughly, equivalent to trolls' matespritship.
I find the kismesis concept a much more useful idea, personally.

It is always good to have more opinions, thank you for your offer. What is your opinion on marriage, and the relationships betw33n humans in this day? It s33ms like I'm getting some conflicting information.
