[good afternoon Death City. hope you aren't tired of new arrivals yet because here's another one.
it's hard to tell where exactly this particular old bespectacled man is recording from because most of the screen is taken up by the biggest hat in the cosmos. don't be intimidated, though! he seems friendly enough, though his attention constantly flickers from his unseen audience to a point just beyond them -- as if he's almost more interested in the communicator itself than who's behind it. the quiet muttering doesn't help.] A mirror, eh? Curious choice...
[right, he's supposed to be talking to people. whoops! he blinks, starts, and smiles apologetically, refocusing.] Ah-- greetings. My name is Qilby, and I am an Eliatrope.
[an awkward, expectant pause as if he's hoping that by some stretch the term should be familiar to someone out there. or maybe he's just hesitant to address his next point.] ...I don't suppose I'm the only one that finds it rather tragic that by bringing us here and giving us these new abilities, they've stripped us of our powers that arguably could have been more useful to help end this conflict. And now we must figure out how to harness an entirely new set of skills... Well. They say you can't teach an old boowolf new tricks, and I doubt I'm an exception. [and his smile at his own "joke" implies that he is a very old boowolf indeed.]
That aside, I'm more than willing to try and learn. Tell me, how have people's experiences been? I'm afraid I haven't had to fight a war in a long time.
[and at that, he looks very tired.] A very, very long time.

What's a boowolf? [He pauses, frowning.] And what does it mean to be an Eliatrope?
video.
Oh, hello again! [question one... ] Ah-- a boowolf is... An animal. Furry, four legs ending in paws, a long snout, pointy ears. Sharp teeth? Fluffy tail? [not that he knows it, but it sounds like he's just describing a regular old dog. albeit a wolfish one.] Perhaps there's something like it on your world.
[the next question may be easier to answer.] As for Eliatropes, we were a space-faring race with considerable magic science. We lived in close harmony with nature, our Goddess, and a life-force in all living things we called Wakfu. It was our ability to manipulate this energy that granted us our powers, including that of portal creation. [there's a distinct pride in his voice as he adds:] As one of the first of my kind to be born it was my job to rule over my people as king, along with my dragon sister, and to pass down teaching to the Eliatrope children.
[...an apologetic look. so much for not talking forever.] I'm sorry. We have a very long history.
You must be like... like the Galactic Civilization.... [He is just completely filled with awe.]
Do you each have special powers? And what kind of portals are there? By dragon do you mean an actual dragon, and if she's a dragon, she's not actually your sister, is she? [Apparently Qilby's not the only one capable of asking lots of questions.]
no subject
Now, my sister... [smiley smile.] Yes, I do mean an actual dragon. My fellow rulers and I are special in that we were the first to be born, out of dragon eggs, with dragon siblings. Ours was a very close bond: we could feel each-other's presence anywhere in the world. [he laughs.] And, mind you, this was a very long time ago. Upon the death of both Eliatrope and dragon, we're reborn from our original egg, perpetuating an endless circle.
[doesn't look his age, does he... suddenly, thoughtful!] As long as I've lived, though, I've never heard of anything like the Galactic Civilisation. This is starting to become a trend of mine, ever since coming here...
