[kaworu seems happy today -- more so than normal, and a great distance from his melancholy the last time he'd posted to the network.]

What sort of sweets does everyone here like? Or types of cookies? I have a friend who is teaching me how to cook, but I do not have much experience with what others enjoy most...

[he mostly wants yako and mello's answers, but being that specific would ruin the surprise so it's simpler to leave things vague for now.]

[his tone and expression soften and he gives the little mirror a gentle smile, somehow different from the sort he shows everyone else. as much as he loved all his friends here, he hadn't really considered the difference until he could once more see shinji.]

[And without actually being prepared for this--because how on earth could he ever really be prepared--he's knocking on the door.]

[Howdy. He startles a tiny bit at the sudden knocking, but calms himself down pretty fast as he realizes that it was likely just Kaworu's friend showing up. He's actually managed to mentally prepare himself pretty well for this because, frankly, if it was someone Kaworu was friends with, he didn't see much of a reason to be too nervous.]

That's probably him, then...?

I would assume so. [and he shoots shinji a reassuring smile before going to get the door.]

You could have simply come in. I did say it was unlocked.

[Takuto is usually so close to fearless it crosses the line into stupidity. But for a reason he can't divulge, this is different, and he's nervous.]

Well, I didn't want to just barge in. [No matter what though, seeing Kaworu brings a smile to his face. He peers around his friend to look at Kaworu's... precious friend.

He can't help but feel a little put-out at how plain-looking the boy seems. ~~Sorry Shinji, your looks don't compare to the Galactic Pretty Boy.~~]

[~~More like Shinji "Entirely Underwhelming" Ikari.~~ He hadn't been entirely sure about what to expect of this friend of Kaworu's, so he still seems a little tense as Takuto looks over to him.]

It's nice to meet you...! [He wants to make a good impression, at least. Gotta be polite.]

[~~both of you shut up shinji is beautiful.~~ he glances back over his shoulder to shinji, all smiles, and steps aside to let takuto in properly.]

Shinji, this is Takuto. And Takuto, Shinji is a precious friend of mine from home.

It's nice to meet you, Shinji.

[And Takuto, actor that he is, pushes his feelings aside and smiles at the other boy. Besides, none of this is Shinji's fault, really, a-and it'd be nice if Shinji were a nice person.]

[The friendly response is something of a relief. At least Takuto doesn't seem to be one of Kaworu's odder friends he was vaguely warned of.]

You too, Takuto-san.

[no way takuto is nice he even taught kaworu how to kiss]

I can make some tea, if anyone would like? [said as he's already kind of drifting towards the kitchen, door closed behind takuto. hand-holding through this whole interaction might not be best for shinji, and he would only be a room away if his help was required.]

Thanks, Kaworu. [Takuto nods as Kaworu drifts away. He looks back to Shinji, completely unsure of how he feels about the other boy, but determined to be nice and give him a good chance. Such a... precious friend of Kawoeu's had to be a good person, right?]

So, what do you think of Death City so far?

I haven't actually gotten around to seeing most of it, yet. [He seems a little sheepish about the fact.] But what I have seen of it, it's actually really nice.

[You know. For a place called 'Death City'.]

[beaming at the two, kaworu slips into the kitchen to put on water for tea. and while waiting for that to heat up, he returns to lurk by the doorway and watch quietly, half curious and half protective.]

[Takuto shrugs, looking almost embarrassed for his city. (And yes, he considers it his city. He's been here for nearly half a year.)] It used to look a lot nicer, but an island kind of fell on it--well, near it is probably more accurate.

But if you want, I could show you around sometime. [He is offering out of habit, but after he thinks about it, he realizes he probably wouldn't mind showing Shinji around anyway.] So, are you a weapon or a meister?

Kaworu told me about the island. [He had taken that much into consideration upon evaluating what he'd seen of the city. And it was still a step up from the way Tokyo-3 was when he'd last seen it.]I would like to get a better look at everything sometime, though.

Ah, and I'm a weapon...

[dammit tea kettle why are you doing what you're supposed to and whistling while he's trying to snoop]

[Takuto nods at Shinji's indirect request, and then smiles.] I'm a meister.

[A pause.] Do you know what your weapon form is yet?

A-... knife. [He has to stop himself from saying 'prog knife', because the only person in Death City who would even know what he was talking about would be Kaworu.]

... Have you been in the city long? [He seemed like he had to Shinji, at least.]

You discovered your weapon form?

[and here's kaworu coming in with three cups of tea, having heard that bit at least.]

[Takuto shrugged at Shinji.] Since last November. [It's certainly longer than a lot of people--the turnover rate in Death City is surprisingly high--but he's not sure if his five months really qualify as a long time. To be fair, he had adjusted to Death City pretty quickly during his first few weeks.

He quickly reaches for a cup of tea from Kaworu--the boy only has two hands after all, so he might as well help him by taking his cup quickly.] Thanks.

[He accepts his cup of tea from Kaworu, muttering a soft 'thank you' as he does.] I found out just recently.

[And he turns back to Takuto, looking a little surprised.] That seems like a pretty long time. [To Shinji, at least. As much as the displacement isn't an entirely new experience, putting an actual amount of time to it gives it a different feeling.]

Mm. [he answers somewhat absentmindedly, distracted. had shinji gotten help to change or just fallen down the stairs or something? now probably wasn't the time to pursue that though, not while he was having an actual conversation with someone other than him.]

We should sit. [it strikes him a little belatedly that it's probably rude to leave a guest standing around -- two guests, technically, but shinji didn't really feel like a guest in his home.]

[Takuto nods at Kaworu's suggestion, starting to make his way over to the couch.]

Sometimes it feels like a very long time, but sometimes it feels like I've just arrived or maybe more like I have to start all over. [He shrugs as he sits, and then takes a sip of tea.]

[Following suit, Shinji takes a seat on the couch.]

That makes sense... [He was no stranger to feelings like that, after all.]

[he takes the seat right next to shinji, perhaps a little closer than what politeness dictates but he could hardly bring himself to care about that sort of thing right now.]

Why would you feel like you have to begin again?
