[There was something to be said for interesting technology; what the was Dwight could care less. He was, so far as he was concerned, being dragged along to someone else's plans once again. This time no one bothered to ask if he was even interested.

Look…I get the idea that this place needs help. I’m not blaming anyone for that. But. Could it have hurt to ask before randomly dumping me in a dark room with a headache? I would’ve even been reasonable about gas money.

Hard to believe but yes. A lot of people seem to come from different versions of this place. Then there's those like me who come from different worlds entirely.

I've been hearing that sort of talk since I got here.

How 'different' is it, exactly? I mean besides technology. That one can sort of be a given.

I've talked to enough people here. Some versions have giant robots, others have actual magic and other versions lack every kind of extra and no one has any special power.

I guess in other versions of Earth the sun and the moon don't...look the way they do.

I think so. There's a Nevada in my world, even went there once several years ago.

Hunh. Hadn't thought of it like that. Like each world is drawn on a piece of paper in a book. Whoever it is just keeps redrawing the same place only with alterations.
