[There was something to be said for interesting technology; what the was Dwight could care less. He was, so far as he was concerned, being dragged along to someone else's plans once again. This time no one bothered to ask if he was even interested.
Yeah. Not happy. Interested…but not happy.
Which shows as he manages to switch the video feed on, showing DEMISE a rather grumpy looking blond.]
Look…I get the idea that this place needs help. I’m not blaming anyone for that. But. Could it have hurt to ask before randomly dumping me in a dark room with a headache? I would’ve even been reasonable about gas money.

[action]
It shouldn't be awkward but it is. Because there is Audrey with no Nathan or Duke and the picture just doesn't look right. He just steps aside however to let her in.]
I'd offer coffee but, haven't had a chance to go shopping yet.
[action]
Neither of those things happens, and Audrey shifts her weight uncomfortably before she actually enters, giving Dwight a slightly sharp nod as she passes him. ]
You look... Good.
[ The answer is no, this couldn't get any more awkward. ]
Re: [action]
Thanks.
[Dwight kind of wishes for a Duke...despite his failings the guy was good at breaking the ice.]
You settled in yet?
[Sure...small talk. Even if he is genuinely curious about the whole 'been here a week' time difference idea.]
[action]
I am. [ She nods, moving her upper torso with her head a little as she nods. ] I'm, um. Actually in this same building. [ She smiles a little, her lips tight together, and points upward. ] 12G. A little strange, living so high up off the ground.
[ It makes her just the tiniest bit uncomfortable, really.
Plus those stairs are a pain in the ass to walk every day, and taking the elevator has always made Audrey feel lazy. ]
[action]
[Haven had let him finally have a quaint little house...even if some of the doorway were a tight fit.]
...is this place really as weird as it seems to be?
[action]
Audrey looks Dwight over for a moment, contemplating her response. She sighs through her nose. ]
Yeah. It's, uh. It's pretty strange here.
[ A pause. She looks away. ]
Probably even stranger than Haven.
[ Dare she say it. ]
Re: [action]
Stranger then Haven?
That's hard to believe.
[Especially with the crazy they'd both seen in the little town.]
What exactly is going on here?
[action]
I don't know. But... Yes. I'm thinking it's stranger than Haven.
The people here... There's something about everyone here, Dwight. They're like the Troubles, but.
[ Audrey shakes her head. ]
There are humans. There are aliens. There are witches. There are people with supernatural powers.
I don't really know what to say about Death City just yet.
Re: [action]
But the Troubles never lead to something like that.
[He was mentioning the state of the City. The unrest amongst the people...maybe eventually the Troubles would cause it. But he could live with that.]
So we're here to clean up?
[He can't help a little smirk.]
[action]
Dwight, this place is something else entirely. These people aren't Troubled; they're just... [ She scrunches her mouth to one side thoughtfully. ] They just seem to be troubled.
[ So complex.
She smiles brightly back at him, genuinely amused. ]
It would seem so.
[ Right then, something clicks in the back of her mind, and she looks at Dwight meaningfully, the smile fading just a little as the gears begin to turn. ]
You know about the war, right?
Re: [action]
[He bites the side of his lip before sighing and nodding.]
Yeah. I uh, reach the brochure. It's not like any war I've seen.
[Magic, witches? Human (mostly) weapons and specialized wielders? Yeah...not his kind of war.]
[action]
To help people, of course. ]
These are definitely some lower case t troubles, but I doubt it'll be any easier than what we've faced in Haven.
[ She looks determined nonetheless. ]
Do you know what you are? Here, I mean. They have Meisters and Weapons, who have to pair up to fight. I'm a Meister.
[ She watches Dwight meaningfully. ]
Re: [action]
Wasn't expecting easy. Nice to not be wrong, I guess.
[Of course she is. Dwight would be worried if Audrey Parker wasn't gung ho about helping the people here.]
I'm a weapon as far as I know...just, not what kind or how exactly I find that out.
