[Well, being almost!human sucked. Joshua, unfortunately, after a day of exploring the city and discovering many fun shops! is currently rediscovering what it means to be tired. What can he say. The battery life of an average human being is pathetic at best. 12 hours? 16? 18? Awful. The sun's going down, and the stars are out. He's currently walking to the apartment he's been allotted, but physical exercise is boring. Very boring. So! A transmission as he walks, mainly to kill some time.]
Howdy.
So~ While the little welcome get-together was indeed quite charming, I have a small question. I want to help with this little war that's going on. The faster it's over, the sooner I get back to doing what's important to me. If I can be some help in that it's better for everyone, right? Anyway, What's the best way to do that? Is it a case of simply walking to the Shibusen, banging on the door and signing some liability waivers or...?
[He's inside the apartment complex now, fiddling with a set of keys as soon as he clears the first hallway. A swing of a door later and...]
By the way. If anyone in charge is watching, kudos for the room.

Why was he worried about this little snot again?]
I can think of stranger, but I guess I can believe it when people say that BREW isn't picky on who it brings to Shibusen, now.

[And he moves to the side to allow Neku entry, switching off his communicator. He doesn't want an audience.]
...Shoes, if you don't mind.
no subject
Didn't think it could pull you, of all people, in.
[For once, it's not meant as a jab at Joshua personally.]
no subject
[Like finding every little tiny bit of Soul you just scattered to the wind by erasing EVERY SINGLE ONE of his support reapers, doing the same for certain officers, and not to mention clearing out the Taboo problem...
But he knows it was needed. And he knows, even without his ESP, by Neku's tone he doesn't mean for that to be some kind of insult.]
...Say, Neku...
no subject
[Yes, well, not his fault certain people made him play the Game three weeks in a row.]
...What?
no subject
and to important matters. Time to work out what point in time/dimension this Neku is from...]
I got your little message.
I trusted you too.
no subject
He's quiet for a second or two.]
...I still trust you. [As much as Joshua annoys the shit out of him.] Just don't kill me again, okay?
[1/2]
[2/2] HE IS A DICK I'M SORRY
...I meant I trusted you not to shoot.
1/2
[...]

That has gone right out the window, so have a punch to the face, Josh.]
That's for shooting me the second time, then.

...He's bleeding. He can bleed here. True enough, when he raises his head the side of his lip has a cut down it, tips of his fingers covered in a sickly red substance. His eyes are glacial. Only partly because of Neku, but more because he can feel pain. He can actually feel pain.]
...
[His eyes focus on his fingers before moving to Neku's face, lips curling into the most sardonic of smiles. Neku can see that here, he's human. He's sure of that. He remains quite silent.]
damn it i lied going to bed after this tag
And there's the catch. I doubt I have to tell you to be more careful from now on?
[Oh, who is he kidding. He probably has to babysit this brat until he's more accustomed to not being the equivalent of a god.]
Me too, 2am ;x;
[He leaves that as it is. Of course he knows that Neku will have absolutely no idea what the hell he's talking about, but that's a very small victory for the future, not for now. Now's Neku's little triumph where all can be right and well again. Or as right and well as it's ever going to be.
He turns his back on the other, and attempts to locate the bathroom.]
Do remember to close the door on your way out. I'll see you very soon.
no subject
One thing first. Have you seen anybody else from our world?
no subject
"Our world...?" You're talking like them, Neku.
I've been here a day, been looking, and I haven't seen anyone from Shibuya. If you're planning on going ahead and trying, I'm coming with.
[He saunters out after he's finished, meeting Neku in the eye and for once, being forthright. Why? Because, at the bottom of everything, he doesn't want anything to happen to Neku. Even if this was some other from some parallel, he'd feel the same. But, by that punch, this is his Neku, and he's not allowing anything to jeopardize the future of this kid. He owes him that much.
...That, and Shibuya needs him. That's a certainty. ]
I don't know if you've heard, but someone on the communicator said the streets aren't safe. While I'm sure you've had quite enough quality time with me, I can't let you go out there by yourself. So as I said, I'm coming with.
no subject
This place has a Shibuya, too, but I doubt it's exactly like ours. I'm planning on doing just that, though.
[He's kind of relieved that Joshua's coming along. Otherwise, he would've waited until morning to start the search. As if normal city dangers aren't enough for this place...well. As much of a brat as Joshua is, Neku does know he can trust the guy to watch his back.]
Yeah, a girl named Aqua warned me about it. Has anybody been able to inform you of whether you're a Meister or a Weapon yet?
no subject
Apparently I'm a Weapon. Which is quite insulting, but...
What about you, Neku? Anyway, Let's not waste time.
[And.]
...I have a detour first, if you don't mind.
no subject
Meister.
[Sigh.]
When don't you have a detour to make?
[This is also Neku for "okay."]
no subject
[Asking Neku what he exactly wants to do with that ability seems a little redundant for the moment, so he merely adds it to his list of things to ask.]
Good. I'll need you to take floors 7 to 13. I need you to knock on the doors of each, and ask for the first aid kit. Every apartment has one. If the occupants complain, tell them that it's for a place called the Horrorspital. They're running out of supplies because of the riots and need whatever they can get. ...Also, if you've got anything to carry them in, that'll be useful too.
[Like namely whatever you used to somehow carry ALL THE SWAG in Shibuya.]
no subject
Sure. Where do you wanna meet up after we're done?
no subject
Right here. See you soon.
[And. Of course he potters around the remaining floors, collecting quite a sizable sum of said item. Most people have been quite happy to help. Other people haven't of course. All-in-all, any aspect of him which is at the very least good at pretending to be social is well and truly exhausted by the time he's finished.
...At least he didn't have to take half as much effort with the stairs as Neku.
So he waits wordlessly, taking yet another look at his phone and snapping it shut in irritation soon after. Maybe Neku was turning a corner, close enough to see the gesture he normally wouldn't show. Maybe he isn't. But when he does arrive...]
Nice haul. At least this means we checked the apartment for your friends too.
The place isn't so far. Let's go.
no subject
Yeah. I didn't see them on any of the other floors. Lead the way, since you apparently know where it is.
[A beat before he asks.]
Something wrong with your phone?
no subject
[And. A diversionary half truth. Because explaining the real reason he's looking at it almost constantly is quite a story. And one he doesn't want to get into.]
...Haven't you noticed on your phone? Practically everything Mr. H installed on mine has been uninstalled. The camera, the tracker-
[He merely shrugs and walks on, feigning resignation.]
For a wish-granting machine, BREW is pretty terrible at actually making those wishes viable. Anyway, let's go.
no subject
[Seriously, how long has he been stalking Neku?
He keeps pace with Joshua.]
It's probably because we have to play by the rules of this place. The only upside I've come up with is that any enemies from the other worlds are subject to the same limitations and rules set here.
