[Well, being almost!human sucked. Joshua, unfortunately, after a day of exploring the city ~~and discovering many fun shops!~~ is currently rediscovering what it means to be tired. What can he say. The battery life of an average human being is pathetic at best. 12 hours? 16? 18? Awful. The sun's going down, and the stars are out. He's currently walking to the apartment he's been allotted, but physical exercise is boring. Very boring. So! A transmission as he walks, mainly to kill some time.]

So~ While the little welcome get-together was indeed quite charming, I have a small question. I want to help with this little war that's going on. The faster it's over, the sooner I get back to doing what's important to me. If I can be some help in that it's better for everyone, right? Anyway, What's the best way to do that? Is it a case of simply walking to the Shibusen, banging on the door and signing some liability waivers or...?

[He's inside the apartment complex now, fiddling with a set of keys as soon as he clears the first hallway. A swing of a door later and...]

Much better. His voice is quite civil and by all impressions, he's pretty relaxed. After all, he knows some places aren't in the Higher Plane's jurisdiction. He must be from one of those places since to the higher plane, it's pretty weird to have a full divinity take care of things like death. ]

All of my powers? [The drawl is saccharine as his expression turns into something that is equally pleasant and nasty.] What a silly little thing to assume.

My powers are still as much with me as is the connection to my domain.

This world does have its gods too. Once could just say that fact made my transition a lot less complicated.

But Hades likes to be a little bit different, which includes asking questions in a way that might get answers that are more than a mere name.]

I expect that answer won't do, so what I was an architect of a system to lead humankind to the right destination. Less than invasive, it's stock is the recently departed. I turned into the system's caretaker once it was finished.

[If that answer surprises Hades it doesn't show on his face.]

The 'right' destination..? [His voice is amusing as he contemplates that idea, his expression gentle. Then he shrugs his shoulders in a dismissive way.] That sounds like an awful amount of fuss over something that subjective and trivial.

Less than a month ago I would have agreed with you. But there's reasons why it's important.

The first reason is fun, of course. Games are supposed to be fun. The Reaper's game isn't any different. A very small percentage of those which pass the system or win the game are needed elsewhere. Other than that, I have no idea. It's not exactly like I care, either.

[He can empathize with that reason to an extent, although Hades finds it hard to imagine a game with set rules that wouldn't grow boring after playing it for a certain time.]

The answer'll likely disappoint you, but sure. You can have fun with something and still get results. It's when something stops becoming fun that results tend to get stale. Anyway, the other reasons are because "fun" isn't exactly valid to the higher ups, not officially. The humanity thing and the other thing sounds way better.

They are all gods who have been called the Rulers of the Underworld at some time or another as well. What makes you think that I am "the unseen" one?

[Smirk.] It wasn't mentioned anywhere that rules could be adjusted as either of us sees fit. Since earlier you didn't exactly answer my question of where mortals go when they die, instead just saying what they believed, we're even.

Nergal presided over a netherworld, Mot is simply the incarnate of death, And you said that you belong to anybody and none at the same time. Dis, as you said, is merely another name for Pluto which is merely another name for Hades. It's not unusual for different groups of mortals to refer to the same guy under different names. Pretty common, actually. Especially given the fact they don't really agree with each other over anything all that much You're not green enough to be Osiris, Dagda and Morrigan didn't exactly preside over anything, Hel would refer to her underworld as Niflheim (or Niflheimr if you're feeling picky) and Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist ideals consider it Naraka, a sort of purgatory rather than an actual underworld. Furthermore, you don't look like a skeletal dog so Xolotl's certainly out.
