[Because he just spoke with Dualscar and as well as he's hiding it to save face in public, he is freaking the fuck out.]

[seeing your other conversations here, he kinda guessed as much.]

[He's not going to answer to that because he can't tell him the door's already unlocked. He locked that shit right up the moment he found out who was around. Not like he thinks it'll do anything, but it would at least buy him a few seconds.

So instead he gets up to unlock the door and open it, waiting for Kaworu to come out and looking down the halls trying and failing not to look as nervous as he feels.]

[it literally takes less than thirty seconds, and he spots eridan pretty much immediately after opening the door. not hard given he's only a door away. any more polite greetings are pretty much ignored at that point in favor of rushing over for a hug.]

[Hugs are awesome right now and he feels like he really needs one, so there's no complaints from him as he damn near clings to Kaworu and very subtle tries to pull him inside the apartment while he's at it. He doesn't want to be in public view. Even his curtains are tightly shut.]

[he kinda trips over tiny little eridan in the process, but he detatches himself enough to get inside.]

Had a bit a trouble. So far I'we already gotten twwo threats, only one a wwhich is really a concern. An' Dualscar's here. There are a lot a fuckin' highblooded adults here an' that's newer a good thin' for a young troll.

[He lets go to shut the door, but there is the fact that he knows Kaworu can't see as well as he can in the dark.]

[his nightvision is probably a little better than a human's, but more light is still nice.]

[Because he is highly concerned about that threat to keep an eye open. Even if he told Dualscar he wasn't too worried... Paranoia is healthy and keeps young trolls alive.]

[and if worst comes to worst he has an impenetrable shield for eridan to hide behind.]

[He's mostly upset about his pillow pile being gone, but he knows it shouldn't take too long to build back up. But that doesn't matter, he's going back to hugging Kaworu again and just. Letting himself breath. His tension levels are higher than they've been in as long as he remembers, possibly ever. He doesn't think he was this scared of Kanaya even.]

[and now he has an eridan attached to his again. but that's nice so it's fine.]

I have plenty of pillows you could use. [his bed is pretty much a mass of pillows and blankets since he likes to burrow, but he could happily give some up for eridan.]

[Being around Kaworu is doing his nerves good. He knows he called him over partly to hear what was up while he was gone, but these are more pressing matters.]

Dualscar's here. You talked to him?

I did. I thought he might have been you at first and was overeager...

[Eridan just hugs him a little tighter for that, feeling a little bad he was gone for so long.]

[he leans against eridan a little at that, realizing a little belatedly just to what extent he'd missed him. especially when yako and takuto had been mad at him, and with shinji still skittish about his interactions with others, he'd missed having someone to just casually engage in comforting physical touching with. humans are so stingy with these things.]

He was...polite. We simply introduced ourselves, and he promised that he would not harm anyone here. That is all.

[That makes him sigh, because he's starting to catch on to the tactic. Play nice and no one will suspect anything, so when the time comes to attack it won't be expected.]

I wwouldn't be too sure about that, but I don't knoww him wwell enough to judge. But I do knoww he'd probably cull anyone if the Empress told him to, so his wword might not be good for much. I just... wwant so fuckin' bad to still be able to look up to him. But there's some thin's a kid has to groww out of. I hate growwin' up Kaww.

The world is not all black and white. You can admire certain traits a person has while still accepting that they have others that are not so admirable. You do not have to scorn him entirely any more than be exactly like him.

So wwhat you're sayin' is I can still wwant to be like him, just pick an' choose by wwhich standards?

[That hadn't even crossed his mind before, and he's still not sure if he can take it that way. But it's an interesting idea to keep in mind.]

[nod nod.] You are allowed to choose your influences. He might be a killer, but from what I could tell, he is also gentlemanly. People are complex creatures, as there is nothing wrong with admiring their better traits if you do not ignore that their less pleasant ones exist.

I'll hawe to keep that in mind.

[But then there's another thing that comes to mind, and suddenly Dualscar isn't important. There's one small thing that came out of his switch over to a weapon. Eridan pulls away from the hug enough to look up at him.]

Hey Kaww, do you think we'd be able to resonate? Seein' as howw the wwhole wweapon thin' noww. Goin' tomorroww mornin' to train wwith Mindfang, an' I just remembered you're a meister too.

[his expression does seem to brighten at that. but then, he does have a bit of an odd perspective on resonation compared to most people here.]

Yeah, I mean it wwouldn't hurt to try. An' on top a that you get to see my faworite fuckin' wweapon I used to use before I started wwith my wwand. I transformed wwhen I got here to see wwhat I wwas, an' it's my Ahab's Crosshairs from home that I inherited from Dualscar.

[Feeling his soul... It sounds a little strange put like that, but he got used to Kaworu being strange a long time ago.]

[Something he came across in one of the books he found in the library, and it was pretty interesting.]

Not like wwhat the humans think a it. It wwas a harpoon rifle that shot powwerful laser blasts. Considerin' howw wweapons wwork here, I'm not expectin' the shots to be as strong as they wwere back home. Just wwatch.

[He doesn't think he needs to tell Kaworu to catch the gun, and it actually takes him a minute of concentration before he gets it again, but when he does there's a pale gold light and his precious beam rifle with violet shoulder strap attached is in his place.

He's still now sure how he feels about his soul being yellow or why, but it's something he plans to keep to himself.]
