One of my previous partners enjoyed collecting weapons after missions. He'd find them in smaller towns close to where our mission was. I won't be surprised if those same places selling weapons would also provide armor.

Where might those be?

There's a smithy around Bavaria, Germany. My old partner used to purchase weapons from a small outfitter in the Nevada desert, but I don't think they actually produce the goods.

I would prefer it to be handmade than obtaining it through a second party. Perhaps a trip there is needed.

Perhaps so. If you do, though, would you let me know? I think I would like to make a purchase myself.

I wish I knew, man. I'm not really an armor wearer, and I don't really think I wanna try my hand at making it, but it seems like a market someone's missing out on, around here..

Yeah well.. most people that are considered 'indestructible' are the first to implode when push comes to shove or they can't handle things as 'perfectly' as before.

Perfectionism, or the idea of it - needing to be perfect and always complete the mission to the exact specs of what's been proposed no ands, ifs, or buts. I'm sure you can expand from there, if need be.
