[The camera shakes violently as it clicks on, panning around for a moment before landing on the disgruntled face of Asuka.]

I don’t care who sees this, but someone damn well better get me some new clothes! I’m not sitting around in this torn up plug suit just because some stupid machine decided to bring me to this stupid place!

[She shakes the device a little, causing the camera to wheel once again.]

And if someone doesn’t bring me clothes RIGHT. NOW. I’m gonna start kicking all of your asses the moment I see each and every one of you!

[It’s obvious that she is upset as she curses to herself about stupid people and stupid machines and stupid MP Evas, the camera still rolling through her muttered tantrum, the sounds of things being knocked over underlying her words until the camera itself is suddenly thrown and turns off with the impact of hitting the wall.]

[Yes Asuka, it was kinda weird. But well, okay, whatever.

Though really, Shinji didn't need to get up that fast.]

Yeah, don't worry about it right now. Stay with us an talk. I mean, we just started catching up.

[She giggles, giving him a smile.]

Besides, I don't mind helping with the cleanup. You did make me dinner, after all.

[Mixed signals, Asuka. This is why they had trouble getting along in the first place. He wasn't too warm to the idea of sitting with the two of them while they ate, considering he hadn't made any for himself, but he wasn't about to argue with the both of them, either.]

A-alright, I'll stay... [Wow, super awkward. Nevertheless, he takes a seat with the two of them.]

[Might be mildly displeased by the fact that she's pretty sure Shinji is staying because of Chika and not her, but... whatever. She continues eating, letting out a contented noise after a moment.]

That's one thing Shinji's good at. He makes great food.

[Geez, Chika can already tell what a minefield she stepped into here. But it wasn't like she could just... ignore them after this. Not after everything she decided.

... And besides, maybe Shinji and Asuka will work through their problems eventually. At least right now, she could try the food.

... After a bite, well, she definitely needed to agree.]

Wow. This is pretty good Ikari-san!

[She takes another bite, before turning over to Asuka.]

Hey Asuka? While you were on the tour, did you find out if you were a meister or weapon yet?

[She probably did, but well, if for some reason she hadn't, that was something else the two of them were going to have to take care of.]

Thank you. [That was directed at both of them, but since Chika was the only one who actually stated a compliment for the food, it probably sounded like Shinji was thanking her exclusively. Oops.

He can't help but be a little curious as to what Asuka is, so he quiets down when the topic is brought up.]

[Shoots a glare at Shinji. Wow, way to pay more attention to this other girl than her. What an ass.

With a huff, she pushes her plate away, half-finished, and shrugs at Chika.]

I guess I'm a weapon. I dunno. Sounds pretty boring.

Well, I guess just hearing about it might sound boring, but I'm pretty sure that no matter which side of a meister-weapon combo you're on fights against Kishin Eggs and stuff are still pretty nerve wracking.

[She takes another bite of her food and swallows before continuing.]

But it's also possible that you might not be a weapon the entire time your here. Sometimes BREW sends people back for like, less than a day and they come back different than how they were when they first came here. Back when he was here my brother went from being a Meister to a Weapon and the same happened to a friend of mine too.

I... didn't know that could happen. [He recalled hearing that BREW could return and bring people back from different points in time, but the fact that their status could change seemed to make Death City an even more confusing place.]

But, Asuka, I'm a weapon, too. I can tell you that it really isn't that boring.

[Honestly, Asuka is more inclined to believe any information coming from Chika rather than Shinji. No offense, Shinji (by which I of course mean 'lots of offense'). She snorts and shrugs.]

Whatever. I'll make do with what I've got, right?

[And now she eyes Shinji a little haughtily.]

Are you telling me you've actually been helping out here?

[Chika smiles, looking between the two of them.]

Yeah. It's pretty confusing when it does happen. But well, I guess counting on it to happen is pretty silly. Considering how finicky and unpredictable the stupid machine is.

[She looks over at Shinji, curiosity on her face now.]

So, Ikari-san, what's your weapon form?

[Asuka's question causes him to frown a bit. He hasn't been going on missions or anything like that, but he's helped out on the home-front a few times by this point.] Is that really so hard to believe...?

[His attention shifts to Chika,] A knife. [Then once more to Asuka, figuring she'd find his next comment of at least mild interest.] It's like the prog knives back home.

[Asuka gives Shinji a look that clearly reads, "Yes. Yes it is so hard to believe." But she doesn't say anything in response to that.

However, she does perk up at what kind of weapon Shinji is.]

You're a prog knife? Well, at least that's a really useful thing to be!

[Huh. Wait, okay. Now things really weren't making any sense. if they were using weapons back home then they knew how to fight but Asuka was acting like he couldn't and...

You know what. Nevermind. She could try to untangle all of this later if she really wanted to.]

Yeah. I've heard and seen some weapons who... aren't exactly obvious in how their form can be used as a weapon before.

But even if the form isn't obvious, the ability that the weapon form has is still useful on the battlefield. I mean, I've seen someone who was a headset that could disrupted resonance between partners, and my brother's weapon form was a small portable device that gave his meister the ability to control fire.

[It might be for the best that you hold off on trying to wrap your head around these two for a while, Chika. Not even they can make heads or tails of their own relationship or statuses back home.]

I've met someone here whose weapon form is a die, and its abilities change depending on the roll. [Really, with all of these unique and creative abilities, his weapon form felt almost lackluster.]

[Asuka gives them both a mildly incredulous look.]

...I'd rather be an actual weapon, thank you very much.

[Chika giggles.]

Let me guess, that person you're talking about is Bakura, right? It figures he'd be something like that. Though that seems pretty... unreliable in the field.

[She turns her attention towards Asuka.]

Well, we won't know what your weapon form is until you figure out how to transform. But no matter what it turns out to be, I'm sure it'll be fine.
