[The camera shakes violently as it clicks on, panning around for a moment before landing on the disgruntled face of Asuka.]

I don’t care who sees this, but someone damn well better get me some new clothes! I’m not sitting around in this torn up plug suit just because some stupid machine decided to bring me to this stupid place!

[She shakes the device a little, causing the camera to wheel once again.]

And if someone doesn’t bring me clothes RIGHT. NOW. I’m gonna start kicking all of your asses the moment I see each and every one of you!

[It’s obvious that she is upset as she curses to herself about stupid people and stupid machines and stupid MP Evas, the camera still rolling through her muttered tantrum, the sounds of things being knocked over underlying her words until the camera itself is suddenly thrown and turns off with the impact of hitting the wall.]

I could not expect you to know. But now that you do, perhaps you could be somewhat nicer to him, at least for today.

[Makes a face.]

No chance. He should have thought of that before he got me torn to pieces, right?

[luckily, he's already gotten the generally gist of what happened after he died from shinji.]

...You do not really hold him responsible for what happened, do you? Shinji is an ordinary boy, not the sort of hero human stories like to portray. He gets nervous and scared like any other person, but he has endured dangerous situations for the sake of others despite his fear. Even when many of you never seem to appreciate that. He deserves praise for his courage, but instead you ignore his successes and blame everything that goes wrong on him. Do you even realize how distressed he was over what happened to you?

[For a moment, she just seems completely lost for words. Who on earth would think all of those things about Shinji so readily? And why the hell did it make so much sense? She hates it. She hates feeling like she might have made a wrong choice because that meant she wasn't as in the right as she thought...]

...I ... I don't... care... how distressed he was. I... he should have helped me...

[Her argument sounds less vitriolic now though...]

How? He is not superhuman. He tried his best for you so many times, but you can only focus on the one time he could not do anything. How is he to blame?

[She can't bring herself to even look at his face on a screen anymore. She's slowly filling with self-doubt and that's... never a good thing for her.]

...He just left me. He... abandoned me.

[Just like everyone has always abandoned her...]

...I don't need him... I don't need anyone...

Everyone needs someone. The hearts of men cannot bear such extreme loneliness. You attempt to manage everything on your own to prove your worth, but you do not have to be alone.

[She doesn't want to feel like this right now, she really, really doesn't. You just keep bringing up things that are upsetting her, Fifth Child! Ugh.]

...stop pretending like you know how I feel. You don't. Please stop...

I do understand. And Shinji does as well, I believe. The two of you react in very different ways, but you are more similar than you think.

[Takes a deep breath.]

...would you just shut up already? I... can't take this right now.

[Actually sounds kind of... defeated.]

[these are things that you really do need to hear. but it isn't his intention to upset you, especially not during the first damn conversation. so he just frowns pensively and eventually nods.]

...Alright.

[She is so done talking to you for right now though. Good thing you get to talk to her more tomorrow, because she just kind of... stops responding, awr...]
