[ His sud-covered hand lifts toward the screen, one finger extended. ]

But if you can follow those three rules, you should be just fine.

[It's fun how casually he can say those words, even to him. Death has always been something he was better talking about than living.]

[ For a moment, Haru's surprised. Looks like they all had their fair share of trouble. If all went well, they all could have gone out together -- a massive fuck you to Death City. Haru laughs at the thought, shaking his head. ]

Now they're really gonna try and fix us, you know. Those poor halfs, they'll say! Look at what a mess they are. They just need love to learn the value of life!

[He laughs at that idea. It's a dirty, bitter, spiteful sound.]

Let 'em try! Before that happens I'll swallow a jar full of rusty nails and hang myself from that bastard-sun's nose!

You were right, Leo. In the beginning about them. I was so caught up in the niceties that I almost bought it and didn't realize humans really will never change.

[He's tempted to give Haru a "I told you so, did you think it'd be ever anything else?" but he changes his mind when he sees Haru's expression.

What happened?

Just...everything. They expect and expect so much out of us and don't even try to understand. Why can't you just trust us? Trust doesn't just come in three months. It takes a lifetime.

And then the fucking rehab. [ He shakes his head, growing annoyed at the thought of it. ] Really would've been better if I just fucking OD'd and was done.

Hey, at least you didn't get all those pitying looks and 'trust in yourself' and 'it's you who doesn't give you a chance' sermons. They're fucking annoying! Apparently we do to them. But it's probably a hero-type thing. Most of them are like that. There's very few real people here. Even less that I'd actually call friends.
