[Video] August 1

[The blond appears in view with an indifferent expression and a cup of tea next to her on her dining room table]

As some of you already know, I have a couple of empty rooms in my apartment that need filling. I’m not going to be overly picky about who fills them as long as they can pay their share and mind their own business. The apartment is on the third floor of Fatality Condominiums and there is a lovely new garden on the balcony. Those who can cook, garden or clean will be considered first.

On a similar note… [she glances around for a moment before lifting the mirror and pointing it at a black and white kitten sitting on the back of the couch watching her curiously.] This was left behind and needs a home ASAP. I think its name is Jerry or Jesse or... something. Anyway, first come first serve, there are some items that can go with it, some need to be fished out from under the couch and probably the beds as well.

[There were still a few hours before Cloud finished his duty at the Watch. When the cat fell asleep, he found his gaze lingering on the black and white ball of fur.

Why had he even bothered responding to the message in the first place? They already had Jenova in the apartment and she was by far enough to bring some level of contentment in his life. She had come into his and Cloud's life much like this one had. No, that wasn't right, she had been dumped at his door and it had only been due to Cloud that they had kept the feline.

Closing his eyes, Sephiroth knew well the reason even if he didn't want to admit to it to himself. He loathed to see yet another creature fall victim to what he once did. Some part of him wanted to protect that creature from the abandonment it may have felt as he had once experienced when Gast left him in ShinRa's care.

His eyes slowly opened at that realisation. Staring at the image again, the kitten sleeping soundly, the ex-General no longer found himself interested in their little contest. Reaching over to his mirror, he disconnected the video feed.]
