As some of you already know, I have a couple of empty rooms in my apartment that need filling. I’m not going to be overly picky about who fills them as long as they can pay their share and mind their own business. The apartment is on the third floor of Fatality Condominiums and there is a lovely new garden on the balcony. Those who can cook, garden or clean will be considered first.

On a similar note… [she glances around for a moment before lifting the mirror and pointing it at a black and white kitten sitting on the back of the couch watching her curiously.] This was left behind and needs a home ASAP. I think its name is Jerry or Jesse or... something. Anyway, first come first serve, there are some items that can go with it, some need to be fished out from under the couch and probably the beds as well.

They're really just cat toys and I just really don't want to crawl on the floor to find them all.

[Nanami can ask the same question especially since she doesn't really get along with animals in general]

How inconvenient. Whenever someone randomly is sent away once more, they could at least bother to clean after said person instead of making us take care of that as well.

Since I've been through a few roommates now I can tell you that BREW generally sends them back with what they came with and possibly all the things they bought for themselves but presents for others or shared items and other... living beings acquired here appear to stay.

Isn't that strange? Considering it can drag people from and to this place, you would think it could do that with something more simple like animals.

I've never heard of a local being sent away by BREW but I assume it has the power to do so, it simply chooses not to for whatever reason.

Perhaps it actively wants to be a pain to us. [ Although it was already a pain by dragging them in here to begin with if you'd ask her.. ]

I wouldn't be surprised.

Then we are in agreement because it seems insistent on sending home all my breadwinners.. not that I'm not also a breadwinner here but this apartment isn't cheap.

How many do you even have left occupied? You're talking about it as if you've practically been left behind by yourself.

I am the only occupant in the apartment minus the cat which will be leaving soon. I can afford the apartment with what the Pharaoh left behind for a while but it won't last forever.

Yes, I'm sure it wouldn't be easy to afford a place like that on your own here. It certainly would've been a lot easier if we were just back home. [ Or at least, it would be for Masako with all her money. ]

Tell me about it. Have you found a job yet?

[Nanami's parents are pretty loaded as well]

.. Something simple, yes.

[ She works in the maid cafe and intimidates the shit out of customers there.. but it's mostly since Minako dragged her into working there to have a kuudere type on board. ]

Although I have moved a while ago to an apartment I could share with my partner. It's more convenient and more spacious at the same time, although it obviously still isn't anything like what I'm used to.

[Nanami tilts her head a bit at the other girls evasiveness. Must be some kind of service job, Nanami would be embarrassed to admit so if her job was like that.]

Oh? Which, apartment building are you in? Tartarus Terraces, Murder Manor? Or perhaps Death City Heights?

Death City Heights. He's not entirely accustomed to the ways of living we have here and I wouldn't immediately want to take him to something more like what I am used to. [ All these people from older times.. and it wasn't like old Japanese simple houses and buildings were all that luxerious. ]

He was already screaming enough about all the things in our current apartment as is.

[hold for a second, Nanami is pulling up the floor schematics of that one in her head, oh yeah 2 bedroom 1 bath]

What's there to scream about? The wonderful new technology like porcelain flushing toilets?

.. Yes, actually.

[ She's not even kidding. Masako probably wishes she was though. ]

And then there was the microwave.. [ Although Masako hasn't really used one of those before coming here either, but at least she knows what all of this is in theory. ]

I guess some old timers are less adaptable than others...

Yours has been doing better in that regard?

[ Then again, Heisuke is.. just.. easily excitable in general. So she figures that's probably the problem. He acts like he's constantly had some sugar overdose.. ]

He had been doing just fine, he was even right at home in Vegas.

[Her roommate had been so nice, refined and relaxed.]

Why, I suppose even people from the past deal with things very differently. [ She's musing quietly on it for a moment.. ]

Perhaps you should meet Heisuke sometime, you'll quickly see what I meant.

H..he sounds delightful. [Not really, what a twitchy smile she's wearing] I will say hello if I happen upon this interesting man of the past.

[ "Delightful" is one way to put it.. but Masako needed someone she could just walk all over and Heisuke was the perfect target for that, okay. ]

Don't give him more excuses to be excited though. I can hardly calm him down as is.

I will be sure to refrain from showing him anything more sophisticated than an electric tea kettle.
