Something in the water, they said? Something...something in the water...hahaha...

[Clover has to surpress a laugh, though she doesn't do an entirely good job of it. She knew she couldn't trust this place more than she could trust the other participants in the Nonary Game.

But now...]

Forget it. I don't care! I don't care anymore, just make it stop--

[She is clutching her head, and suddenly it's not clear whether she's laughing or crying anymore.]

Snake...

[Her voice is weak...and the feed shuts off.]

[Clover makes a face. If that was meant to distract, it actually kind of worked.

[She shouts back, demanding.]

[The look of worry eases away. No more need to yell.]

Don't lose your focus... You're only talking to me.

[A huff and she looks away from the screen, expression unreadable. She doesn't know what to say to that...

There's just a bite of her lip, and she just focuses on her breathing...for now.

Things are almost quiet...]

Clover..?

[He isn't sure if he should yell her name out again. Not living in the Communal any more also means it isn't so easy to travel quickly to people's rooms...]

Clover, are you okay..?

I-I'll be fine!

[She bites back suddenly at his voice, shaking her head. She's glaring, though she still doesn't meet his eye.]

[Still doesn't like the sound of that...]

Where are you? I'll go to you.

[Hesitating.

hesitating because why should anyone care. Why had she bothered with this broadcast?

...But then in the end, something makes her give in.

Because without her brother--or at least with her being reminded of his "death" constantly--that's all she feels like doing.]

[The new building? He'll have to check a map, but it should be easy enough to find...]

[That last noise doesn't sound good, and it spurs Minato to hurry over even faster. Stepping out of his own apartment, he scans the skyline to find the building--the new buildings are all taller than the rest of the city--and makes a run for it...

... When Minato gets there, he's worn out and coughing badly. Still not feeling too great from getting turned into a statue. He's also considering a motorbike or a bicycle with how spread out everyone's become.

He pounds on her door. 9B, right?] Clover-san!

[The screaming of her name startles her, as does the pounding on the door. It's enough to shake her out of her hallucinations, if only for just a moment, as she goes over to answer it with a sigh, knowing full well who to expect.

...She doesn't look too great either; they're both kind of panting and worn out and sweating, though Clover is at least not coughing so much.]

You... [He actually came.] You look terrible.

[A huff and she leaves the door open for him to walk through it, turning and looking around her apartment again in a kind of paranoid way.]

[No, not in there. Minato reaches for her hand or her wrist or her arm, trying to pull her out!]

[Caught off guard, Clover is pulled quite easily, though she resists at last minute.

It's too late, though.]

H-Hey...!

Not in there. [When she's closer, he gets a better grip on her shoulder with his other hand and plants her firmly in front of him. He indicates down the hallway with his head.] Let's go somewhere else.

[She glances down the hallway when he indicates; then back into the room, as if she wonders whether they'll just follow her.

Then, back to him.]

Outside. It'll be better if you aren't alone.

[She's just going to follow him, then. She shuts the door on her apartment--loudly--hoping that might scare them off or something.

Though she's not stupid enough to believe it'd be that easy.]

[He's not sure about the people in her head, but that slam sure stunned Minato.

He stares at her... then pulls her along by the arm.]

How long has this been going on, Clover-san..?

[Resisting, because what is this physical contact. :T]

I don't know exactly. Apparently it's something in the water. Stupid...

She can hear footsteps behind them, too. She knows the hallway is empty...]
