feb. 06 ♣ voice; without you
[The communicator clicks on to heavy breathing.
You'd be breathing heavily too, if you just spent the last few hours or so of your life, tearing apart your brother's apartment--and then your own out of sheer frustration. She knows what's happened, though, and for once, there's nothing she can do to change it.
There's no one she can kill that would change BREW's mind, and she's not even in the mood to celebrate the successful rescues.]
...Hey. Instead of whining every time someone's been sent home, has anyone ever figured out why BREW decides kick them to the curb?
[It doesn't seem right that it gets to throw people out like useless trash. Especially not someone like Snake.]
It's not like I've been doing all that much... [Aside from maybe some meaningless deliveries--only because no one else could be bothered to do them.] Why am I still here?
[She's just going to mope and generally be pouty and angry and miserable.
Whoops?
...Click!]

[Voice]
...You didn't answer my question.
Because I don't know...
[Voice]
Anyway, she knows better than to say that aloud, as much as she wants to.]
Tch. Fine.
[She doesn't know what he expects from her, then. Though for starters, she still hasn't answered his question...]
[Perma video]
I think... it might not be that BREW sends them home... but home pulls them back. Like a tug of war, in a way.
[Perma voice]
Does that mean you think he might be back?
[Clover doesn't realize she hasn't actually said "he" was missing.]

[She has no idea who you're talking about, bub. She's only concerned about her brother here, but it seems like you've got her attention. At the very least, she really would love to live in denial, too...
She's curled up in a ball at the moment at the thought of him returning. Why can't it be now? But in the end--]
I'm not holding my breath.

He smiles and gives a small nod]]
Long as you don't give up hope, ne?

...Clover's usually a lot more optimistic than that though, and she knows that. So she kind of keeps the thought to herself, letting it stew in her mind. If he hadn't been sent home, she'd not have thought it at all...]
...He probably wouldn't want me to.
[She clenches her fist; not sure if she's angrier at herself, or BREW.]

...And what if I don't know that, hm? What then?
