☆ 003 | TEXT | 2/17 ☆

Ah, I can't help feeling that things are a little quiet around here right, now. I know I should probably feel glad considering the alternative, but I guess I find it all too easy to become bored.

I've heard the news that there may be a serial killer in our midst, but it's hard to feel concern for something when it's at a remove from you, right? It's a big city after all, and it's easy to put your mind to rest and think that such a thing will never happen to you. Only, perhaps the people who were killed used to think exactly the same thing? I wonder.

Anyway! Perhaps it's better to concentrate on something a little less morbid. And since I said I was bored...maybe some of you can tell me what you like to do for fun around here? Is there anything you particularly like about Death City? Or even things you really dislike? Give me some ideas ☆

I do -- to some degree. It's a very human quality, and while someone may be confident in one thing there will always be something else in which they lack confidence.

I suppose it would depend on the person, whether you get to know them well through text. But I, personally, tend to be more comfortable when I'm not hiding behind the veil of anonymity. There's a great deal more you can tell about a person just by seeing their facial expressions as well as hearing their voice. Nuances that I feel would get confused or missed entirely when speaking on a text-only basis.

You, for instance, were different from the way I imagined you.

No, not always. But they are along similar lines. Both are related to uncertainty.

As for how you are different, please don't take offense. But through text with some of your mannerisms, it is easy to mistake you for a woman.

You raise a good argument, as always, K-chan. And I suppose it's possible there are people such as this who exist.

[ After all, Light's one of them. ]

I'm relieved. I didn't want to upset you.

But would you say it's the ideal for a person to possess no real lack of confidence, overshadowing their weaknesses with their own strengths? Or would you say it makes them arrogant?

To be truthful, I believe they are the same thing in essence. One is simply worded in a kinder manner than the other.
