 [The device comes on and at first you can just see a set of full lips. After a moment it's pulled away until Bianchi is completely visible, a bit of flour on her cheek. She presses reading glasses up her nose and sets aside a wisk with something creamy dripping from it and sits down. Setting her chin on her hand she offers a slow smile to the viewer. When she starts speaking there is a definite Italian accent.]

 

Hello, I have been experimenting with some of the local flavors but it appears to be mostly standard fare in the local market. Can any one tell me what kinds of interesting ingredients are avaliable in this part of the United States? Most of my experience is farther east. And where is the nearest place to buy a black light?  

 

[she pauses for a moment looking thoughtful] I have also not yet found the local chemist, or I suppose it's a pharmacist here.  I have need of some special pharmaceutical supplies. Perhaps I'll need to visit Vegas.

 

I must say that I am not at all disappointed to be so close to Las Vegas. If I am going to be helping in such a place, it is always nice to have access to decent designers.

 

[Her smile slowly returns as though she's made some sort of decision before she presses a button and the image disappears.]

I am looking for those things that can not be found over the counter at the local market. Do you know of a source for items obtained through prescription?

Unless you ambush a delivery truck or manage to bribe a doctor, there's no source within the city.

[Like she'd disclose sources over an open network...]

[Well now, ambushing a delivery truck is a little obvious but not outside the realm of possibility. She prefers subtler methods, though.]

There are no pharmacists in the city? That seems uneconomical.

[Unfortunately Bianchi has no way to tell if a voice over a device is someone with which black market items may be discussed. She does have some discretion.]

Perhaps as you say, I will simply have to find a doctor then. [And she lets the idea of bribery just float there without acknowledgement. ] Is there a chemist at the school?

The closest to a chemist would be Dr. Stein... though, do be prepared for an 'equivalent' exchange.

Cactus blossoms? Is it a good time of year for those? Perhaps I will need to plan an excursion.

Yes. There are those as well. I leave the snakes alone. The lizards are quick, but catchable.

Autumn? Well it would seem I have some time to wait for the fruit then. I admit, the idea of harvesting from cactus does intrigue me though.

Do snakes bother you? I would think they couldn't do much damage considering. [All the metal obviously. Likely break a tooth on him from the looks of things.]

I am afraid I have very few ingredients at the moment, but if you would like to learn something simple we can make an afternoon of it whenever you'd like.

[Bianchi finds it completely understandable. After all, you must cook with love as well there is no reason fun cannot be taken just as seriously.]

Some of the ingredients cross over. There is a whole new branch of cooking, in fact, that uses chemical reaction. Do you have a lab of some sort?

[Deciding to slide over that for now, she shifts back to the topic at hand] Perhaps I might order from your supplier occasionally?

[Not usually one for the network, Lily is keeping an eye on it just to make sure the recent trouble really is over... She doesn't recognize the woman with the Italian accent but the talk of cooking catches her interest. A newcomer?]

You're interested in cooking? They're not especially specific to the region but I grow some herbs in the park.

[Normally, Lily wouldn't share from her stash back home but what she is able to grow here runs along more innocuous lines. Deadly nightshade, mandrake, hensbane and the like were out without a more private space where unsuspecting children or pets wouldn't encounter them.]
