[Aqua was sitting by a window, with her knees draw up and the communicator balanced on top. She leaned back against the wall, posture relaxed.]

I've been wondering, does anyone come from a world with magic? If so, would you mind telling me a little about it?

[She reaches out a hand to steady the communicator when it slides a little to the left before righting it again.]

I specialized in magic back home, so I'm curious about what kinds of magic exists in other worlds.

I found a copy of the Grimm's Fairy Tales in the library. [She smiled.] I really enjoyed it; thank you for recommending it to me.

Anything in particular that you want to hear about?

Not really. Though, if there's one thing I'm particularly curious about, it's probably where spells draw their power from in other worlds. I heard from someone else before that magic in the world they could use it in drew power from belief, and that's completely different from the magic I'm used to.

But I'd love to hear about anything you're comfortable talking about.

Ah. Well, back home, magic isn't particularly wide-spread - only one in ten people use it. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication; it can be taught, but not many are up to that sort of undertaking. Still, I suppose that emotion ties into it - anger, in particular, can cause someone to use it instinctively, or make their attacks stronger.

In my world, I used ex-quip magic; it allowed me to summon weapons or change my armour to fit the situation. It's not as... flashy as some techniques, but it's quite versatile.

((OoC: Sorry if it's kind of vague - the series hasn't really elaborated much on general information about magic.))

I see. Emotions didn't have a lot to do with the magic I used...though it did affect other things.

And ex-quip magic sounds really useful. It wouldn't have suited our purposes as well since our enemies can only be defeated by one kind of weapon, but I'd imagine it would really come in handy in a lot of situations.

What sort of magic did you use?

Yes, it certainly does. A lot of my armours tend to be enchanted, making me move faster, giving me greater immunity to fire-based attacks, and so on. [I have no idea how equipping armour makes her move faster - I just roll with it.] And it saves a lot of time when it comes to changing outfits.

Most of it was elemental based magic, usually fire, ice, wind or lightning based. I also knew some basic healing spells, and ones that affected time and space.

So you could adjust your strengths and weaknesses as you needed in a battle. That's really impressive.

Really? It must have taken a lot of work to learn all of that - where I'm from, only a very small number of mages are capable of using more than one element efficiently, and only one or two come to mind who'd be able to use that many.

It wasn't that uncommon for us. Then again, I didn't really have a chance to talk to other magic users before.
