[Aqua was sitting by a window, with her knees draw up and the communicator balanced on top. She leaned back against the wall, posture relaxed.]

I've been wondering, does anyone come from a world with magic? If so, would you mind telling me a little about it?

[She reaches out a hand to steady the communicator when it slides a little to the left before righting it again.]

I specialized in magic back home, so I'm curious about what kinds of magic exists in other worlds.

I found a copy of the Grimm's Fairy Tales in the library. [She smiled.] I really enjoyed it; thank you for recommending it to me.

...She seems like a pretty busy gal, so things going a bit crazy for her isn't surprising. But those stories actually happening?]

Really... and what makes you say that?

[She tilts her head.]

For one, they had the same name as some of the princesses and the stories are actually similar to what I saw happening to some of them.

...You've met them?

[She finds that a little hard to believe, on the count of them being fictional. But okay, she'll humor her.

She's seen a lot of strange things here by now.]

Where are you from?

A few of them, yes.

[You should have seen her face when she realized they were fictional in another world.]

The world I came from is called the Land of Departure.

...I've never heard of it.

['Land of Departure'?

She doesn't get it-- departure from where? Pfffht weird name.]

How did you get them all in one place?

I'm not surprised. It's pretty isolated as far as worlds go.

[She'd actually be more surprised if Clover had heard about it.]

Well, they weren't really all in one place. [Well, she hadn't had any trouble with people pushing her for answers lately...] They lived in different worlds that I visited.

[Lived in different worlds...? While hers is isolated?

It's a little difficult to picture; she can't help but think maybe she's mistaken worlds for just... continents or something, all within the same world.

But she really doesn't feel like arguing today.

She'll just take the information as it comes, for now. It isn't like she can prove anything otherwise, anyway.]

Sounds like you're a traveler.

There was something my friends and I needed to do and it involved travelling to different places. [She shrugged a little.] Before that I never really left my home too often.

[If she's honest, it sounds fun too. Seeing the world, multiple worlds. She'd have a blast-- but Aqua's also making it sound like work.]

It must've been a big deal, then.

I really wouldn't mind traveling myself, but... I guess I'm stuck here for now.

[There's a sigh. She's gotten used to it here, though. At least a bit.]

[She was just the sort of person who preferred to stay in one place if given the choice.]

It was. [And that's all she's saying about it. Anything more and it would be quickly edging into Keybearer only territory.

Speaking of being stuck here, though...]

How have you been? I hope you didn't have any trouble settling.

[That's okay, Clover really wasn't asking anyway. Just... making an observation.

Aqua's question actually makes her think back on the time she's spent here so far... and there's a shake of her head, as well as a shrug of her shoulders.]

It could've been worse. Pretty nice of them to have free apartments set up for the newbies.

Well, BREW did pulls us here out of nowhere, and I've found that the people at Shibusen are good people.

Seems so.

[Good people, but they're still being held against their will here. It's kind of odd to be thinking of them that way, but... funnily enough, Clover has no complaints.]

By the way, did you get a chance to read anything else?

[Eh, maybe she can get a book rec or two in return.]

There was another book that details the different Kishin Eggs Shibusen agents have encountered over the years that someone else recommended to me.

...That's right. You did mention an Encyclopedia, or something back then.

Hope it was useful.

It was interesting.

[But she has a feeling it's not really Clover's cup of tea.]

I also started on a novel a few days ago.

[...Not particularly, no, but she'll read it if she has to. If she finally partners officially and starts fighting, taking on missions-- then she'll probably consider giving it a once over.

...That novel, though. That catches her attention more.]

A novel. [ooh la la~] Do tell.

It's called The Coincidence Engine. It's about two men who try to stop this machine created by a mathematician that affects probability.

[Probability...?]

I take it the machine was causing problems?

A lot of problems. Like frogs falling out of the sky.

The book's a bit silly, but it's good for passing the time.

... [She can't help but grin and think of her frog alien friends.

Well, they were sort of friends, at least.]

I'll keep it in mind. And I guess I can assume you like it so far.

It's interesting. I don't usually read a lot of science-fiction, so it's a nice change from of pace.

Sounds like it.

Maybe I should make a to-read list, now that I think about it...

That might be a good idea. It could be hard to remember if there are a lot of books you want to read, or if you can't get to them quickly.
