[Forgive him for doing this a little late, but he's been busy adjusting to his new surroundings as well as learning about the responsibilities the other Roy had undertaken while he'd been here. He could see how they came about to a degree, and he'd likely be agreeable to possibly continuing them if he was asked to. He'd cross that bridge when he got there, however.

The man currently on the feed might actually look familiar to some, though there's one glaring difference between him and his previous counterpart. That being the obvious lack of an eye patch.]

Good afternoon, Death City. Roy Mustang. I've been made aware that this isn't the first time that someone bearing my name has been here.

[The idea of an alternate universe is still something like out of a novel. If he didn't already have physical proof of other more outrageous things happening here, he'd still be somewhat hard-pressed to believe it.]

Unfortunately, I am not the same man who was here previously. From what I've heard about him, he was apparently from a different timeline.

However, while I have no memory of this place, or the people who once knew this man... I am willing to help this city in the same manner as my counterpart did, if those in charge here are all right with that.

He had no actual intentions of attempting to jump right back into the shoes his counterpart had left behind after all. He was well aware that he still had plenty to learn of this place before he'd be capable of even attempting replace the man.]

Hello, Gai. I can understand that. I can also agree with you that it isn't a good idea to be solely reliant on a single person. Especially in an unstable situation as you describe. I'll definitely consider joining the ranks of it once I believe myself capable of aiding it.

[Oh, thank whatever higher being is out there that someone else has the sense to discourage Roy from jumping into such a demanding role, even if it is only because the position has changed. He was never keen on the other Roy always working, and he is not open to the idea of this one starting that up, too.

[Hughes has to think for a bit before he actually responds to this. Roy offering to take the position the previous Roy had before leaving is something of a surprise given how soon it is after his arrival. Though he knows it is in Roy's nature to want to protect as many people as possible, as usual, Roy is prioritizing others before himself. At least, that is how is seems. Hughes had figured he would have at least a week before Roy got antsy and wanted to get involved with something, but Roy caught him off guard with this one.

It does spark a bit of anger in him, but he swallows it and tries not to be passive aggressive in his reply.]

Of course it takes him a moment to actually respond to Al, as last he saw that voice's owner, it had come from a body of flesh and bone. Confusing times indeed.]

Hello, Alphonse. It's not really all that important now it seems, beyond the fact that there are a good number of people who apparently know me, while I know nothing of them.

It seems so, my counterpart's world held the same places and people as mine it would seem.. but certain things didn't happen in his world like they did in my own. Like his missing eye for example. I still have both my eyes.
