I'm sure we all have a 'bucket' list of things we'd like to do sometime in our lives before we die. This place certainly gives us opportunities to cross items off it, such as getting to visit other continents.

On the other hand, it also presents us with things we'd never believed would ever happen to us - the whole manner of our arrival and subsequent submersion into this war aside.

[Akiha is back from her mission in Brazil and she's not terribly happy with how it went.]

For example, I can now claim that I have been eaten by a giant slug. Allow me to cross that off my list. I've always wanted to have to kill something while inside its stomach and then cut my way out. [/sarcasm]

That said, can anyone recommend a hair stylist here? I need to take a few inches off thanks to stomach acid. [Or whatever it was.]

[THANK GOODNESS. Akiha closed her eyes and pillowed her head on her arms, back against Sion's. She liked the warmth and maybe she would nap.

...though after a bit, she sighed, unable to deal with the spikiness of Sion's wavelength.]

What is the big deal? Is it that I went on a mission without you? Is it that I didn't talk to you about it first? Or is it because it was her?

[It was definitely her. Even Sion couldn't deny that.]

You need to get over that petty grudge, Sion. She's not that bad. Or is there something else that has you worked up regarding her?

It would be the same if it were anyone else spending ti-!

[Whoops, she suddenly shut her mouth. While Akiha was gone, Sion had worked it down to that, even if she still didn't fully comprehend why. But it was slowly dawning on her and she didn't want Akiha to know.

She was jealous.]

[Sion might be able to feel Akiha stop breathing for a few seconds. She reached back and pulled Sion's braid to her. Letting it drape over her, she idly brushed the end of it against her own cheek.]

...you are my partner.

[computations]

[There was only a sigh from Sion. A satisfied one...content. That answer was enough for her. It felt like permanence, at least, something her uneasy heart could cling to.]

...thank you.

[Hesitantly, she put an arm around Akiha and pulled her close. She was acting as if she was cold so...]

[She -was- cold and her damp hair didn't help much with that. So when Sion put that arm around her, Akiha covered it with her own and leaned back into her. After a moment...]

I never want to see the inside of a slug again.

[Sion huddled up with her, feeling that Akiha thought it was comfortable through their connection.]

The statistical probability of that happening again is infinitesimally small.

[Akiha very much liked Sion where she was. Closing her eyes, she leaned her head back against her partner.]

That's beside the point. It was disgusting. I feel like my body will never be clean again. And the damage to my hair...

Your hair will be fine. I can fix it for you, if you would prefer.

[A slight squeeze in suggestion.]

[Akiha wasn't sure if she wanted Sion cutting her hair. It wasn't so much a lack in confidence; she knew Sion had a steady hand and would make it even. It was that... Akiha wanted some pampering and going to a salon where someone else washed her hair, cut off those damaged ends and then treated it, styled it... Not to mention they didn't own the right kind of scissors.]

Mm. I'll think about it. There is something about going to a salon that's extremely relaxing. But I know you'd do a good job and it'd save us money. I already spent what I made on the mission.

How did you spend all of your money already?

[Akiha, don't you know about the words SAVING?]

[No. She's never had to save money before.]

Shopping in Rio. [A sliight pout here] It made me feel better.

...I bought you a couple things. Gifts.

Saving money should be a priority but...

...I suppose I am thankful for that.

I hope you like what I got you. It's in the bag I brought in with me.

[Though Akiha makes no move to retrieve it. She's quite content where she is with Sion up against her.]

[She's curious but she doesn't exactly want to go grab it herself.]

May I see what it is?

[ritsu_kouyou]

Yes. [If she must...]

[It's either Akiha or Sion getting up aaaaaand....

...it's Sion. She gets up and off the bed so she can go peak into the bag. She got permission, it's okay.]

[ritsu_kouyou]

[Oops. Was that the tiniest little whine at that? Maybe.

...it was the sudden loss of body heat. Yes, that was it. The coldness that is now her back.

Akiha rolls over so she can see Sion poking through the bag. There's an outfit (with sandals) inside and a small black box that is universally known to contain non-ring jewelry.]

[She pulls out the outfit and holds them up, surveying them.]

I suppose these are the other things you spent your money on?

[AKA, they are for Akiha herself.]

I bought a few things for myself, but they're in my room. I picked that outfit up for you. I thought you could use some variety and, with your complexion, the Brazilian style would look nice on you.

[She stares at it, imagining herself filling out the clothing.

.....slight brain break.]

[Akiha curls up on her side and gives a little smile.]

That is what I said. You should try them on.

I cannot possibly...

[Fit in these? Maybe barely. BARELY. BUT STILL!!!]

Oh, please, Sion, why are you acting like that. It'll look fine. Yes, it's not your normal style, but I think they'll look good. Try them on.
