[So after a few days from his initial arrival, Steve finally decides to use the communicator he's given. He's not averse to using it, if the technology is helpful he's gonna work with it. He looks at the device, his expression friendly.]

Hello, this is Steve Rogers. Word is that I was here before, but guess that's happened to others too. Don't have my memories of that time, but I'm not against reintroducing myself and meeting anyone I've worked with before. [He's actually a little angry about that, but he's not showing it. It's sorta the opposite of waking up in New York, but still frustrating in its own way. Regardless, Steve remains calm and polite on the video feed.]

Not against meeting new soldiers- people, either. Trust in your comrades is always important. Doesn't matter what world you come from.

[He frowns a little.] You called yourself a hero?

[Not Here]

[But oddly enough, on Sephiroth's end of the communicator the faint cheer can be heard that sounds distinctly like "I knew it all along!"]

[Hearing the shout out, Sephiroth held back a disgruntled grumble as he grabbed the couch pillow and ditched it towards Cloud to shut him up.]

[Fortunately it's voice, since Sephiroth's frowning to himself on the other end at his slip. He doesn't let it show, however, and instead finds his tone growing far more arrogant to cover this unforeseen moment.]

The government I once worked for promoted me as one to lure in those foolish enough to believe such nonsense.

[itsfondue]

[Boy, that sounds familiar. He remembers being used as propaganda for a while before actually being a soldier.]

There's nothing foolish about people believing in heroes.

[pure_lineage]

Are you speaking of knowledge from your own world? Or of intimate knowledge of the parasites from my own?

[itsfondue]

My own, but I believe that it spans across all worlds.

[pure_lineage]

So either you were one who worshipped such a hero, or were a hero at some point. Which might it be, hmm?

[itsfondue]

There are heroes in my world, just don't worship them. [And he's too modest to consider himself one.] They're people risking their lives for others.

[pure_lineage]

[Sephiroth chuckled on the other end.]

Mmm I do wonder. Will there ever be a day where their bubble will finally burst.

[itsfondue]

That day won't come.

[pure_lineage]

You sound so sure of yourself. [There's a moment of pause.] Aa you are one of the heroes that your world idolizes?

[itsfondue]

It's not important if I am.

[pure_lineage]

I believe that you've already answered the question.

You think that we are not similar, but I was once in a similar position.

[itsfondue]

You already mentioned that you were a hero.

[pure_lineage]

Saa, if that's what you wish to believe I meant, then that is all I will say.

[itsfondue]

And people used to idolize you. But now you consider them parasites. [He's not really impressed.]

[pure_lineage]

[There was a chuckle, and while it's only voice on his end, there's no doubt to the smirk when this Steve Rogers' assumption was incorrect.]

Believe whatever you will.

[itsfondue]

[Steve looks determined.]

I will. And I won't stop believing in people like you have.

[pure_lineage]

We will soon see if such faith remains. [he's playing along, even if he's only showing only a small part of the story.]

[itsfondue]

I wouldn't get my hopes up. [For his mind to change that is.]

[pure_lineage]

Perhaps, but time will tell. [There's an amused tone to his voice before he disconnects the feed.]
