[So after a few days from his initial arrival, Steve finally decides to use the communicator he's given. He's not averse to using it, if the technology is helpful he's gonna work with it. He looks at the device, his expression friendly.]

Hello, this is Steve Rogers. Word is that I was here before, but guess that's happened to others too. Don't have my memories of that time, but I'm not against reintroducing myself and meeting anyone I've worked with before. [He's actually a little angry about that, but he's not showing it. It's sorta the opposite of waking up in New York, but still frustrating in its own way. Regardless, Steve remains calm and polite on the video feed.]

Not against meeting new soldiers- people, either. Trust in your comrades is always important. Doesn't matter what world you come from.

A god? [Yeah, he doesn't really seem to believe him.]

Ancient Greek theology knows me as Hades. I guess you could also refer to me as Enma, Lucifer or even Loki if you like. Any of those names is as correct as it is wrong.

Right. You're a little different from the Loki I've met.

I am also a lot different from the Loki that I've met here.

What's he like? [Steve wonders if it's the Loki that he knew. The guy could just be hiding from him. Though, he was kinda the type to announce his presence.]

I did not pay him much attention because he showed the same kinds of decay as most other entities in this place do.

I know better than to get too greedy and involved with the likes of yourself. [Mortals have the bad effect of their ways of thinking and feeling rubbing off on deities like himself. It's dangerous if one was not aware of that.]

And I thought everyone came here as a mortal.

Most gods do not die like a mortal would. Do you think that means that none of us can end?

Don't think anything is really immortal. [Well, except for his God. But um, that's a whole different thing to Steve.] Not even 'gods' from another realm.

Naturally. Life cannot exist without death. [He still sounds amused. It's actually quite difficult to make Hades sound like anything else than a teacher who is observing a student's struggle to add two and two and not receive a five.] The light requires a shadow to be able to know that it exists. Yet it would seem that it can be dark even when there is no light to be absent to begin with.

Do you not believe that there are gods here? My last Meister was quite stubborn over me not being able to be a true deity.

[He normally doesn't bring up his religion too often, but since he asked.] I really only believe in one god.

I believe that there are powerful beings, those that appear godlike to others, but they aren't actual gods.

[There is a short pause as Hades just looks at him, considering his look as well as his words and ways of saying them.]

You know, you may actually be right.

It's fine to have your own belief still. Not gonna impose my own on others here.

You misunderstand.

I believe as much that I am a god as a human believes that he is part of the human species.

Think I got that much. You're Hades and you enjoy observing humans.

I get involved because the Sky does not. What I offer is 'choice'.


Yet I do not think that I can say that I enjoy observing them a lot anymore.

And what type of 'choice' do you normally offer?

That always depends on the person I'm dealing with.
